Intelligentsia is a status class of educated people engaged in the complex mental labors that
critique, guide, and lead in shaping the culture and politics of their society.
Satire is a technique employed by writers to expose and criticize foolishness and corruption of an
individual or a society, by using humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule. It intends to improve
humanity by criticizing its follies and foibles
Fathers Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos and Jacinto Zamora, all Filipino priest, was executed by the
Spanish colonizers on charges of subversion. The martyrdom of the three priests apparently helped
to inspire the organization of the Propaganda Movement, which aimed to seek reforms and inform
Spain of the abuses of its colonial government.
