WHAT'S SHAKING?

An intense shaking of Earth’s surface caused by

the movements in the Earth’s outermost layer
(NASA Science, 2020). Earthquakes can range in
size from those that are so weak that they
cannot be felt to those violent enough to toss
people around and destroy whole cities

The tropical cyclone, also called typhoon or

hurricane is an intense circular storm that
originates over warm tropical oceans and is
characterized by low atmospheric pressure,
high winds, and heavy rain (Britannica).

Droughts

Drought is caused by not only lack of
precipitation and high temperatures but by
overuse and overpopulation (David Miskus,
NOAA). There are 4 categories: Meteorological,
Socioeconomic, Agricultural, and Hydrological.
It can be devastating to an area’s economy
and dangerous for human health, as population
booms can trigger droughts almost by
themselves. (Wolchover, 2018).

Tsunamis
CAN YOU OUTRUN NATURE?

Giant waves caused by earthquakes or volcanic

eruptions under the sea. Out in the depths of the
ocean, tsunami waves do not dramatically increase
in height. But as waves travel inland, they build up
to higher heights as the depth of the ocean

A landslide is a geological movement of rock,

earth, or debris down a sloped section of land
(Nat Geo, 2014). Areas without trees are prone
to these and are triggered because of
earthquake, erosion or volcanic activity.
