Course Description: Tourism is the single large industry in the world today. This course focuses
on operation skills and management practice in the tourism and hospitality industry. It also offers
a variety of exciting activities to enrich student’s academic and practical experience.

Course Objectives: This course will help the students to understand what tourism is and to
appreciate how important this industry is to the economy of the world and of many countries. After
the successful completion of the course students are expected to learn various skills required in the
tourism industry which will help in their upcoming career.

Discussion participation:
Sometimes discussion session can be initiated in some classes focusing on the contemporary issues
of business. It can be offered to the class spontaneously or by prior declaration. Not necessary that
it will be fully related with the course, mostly it will be related to the business issues.

Mid Term 02 15%
Final 60%
Assignments and Presentation 10%

Grading Scale:
According to the specified standard of Evening MBA Program

Students’ obligations:
Each student is expected to attend all the classes, be responsible for announcements made in the
class and liable for collecting materials distributed in the class. Written assignments will be due at
the beginning of the class period of the due date. Acceptance of the late submission of assignments
will be under the discretion of the instructor. An unauthorized late assignment submission will
lead to 10% mark deduction from the obtained marks on that assignment.

Each student must attend all the exams and other mark bearing activities to complete the course.
Any unauthorized absence from any of the above events will automatically add 0 (zero) for that
event.

Class Conduct
There is a reason good manners never go out of style. An old saying goes. ‘You never get a second
chance to make a good first impression.’ The person who makes a good impression will be the one
who gets the job, wins the promotion or clinches the deal. Punctuality should be maintained at all
times. Please do not talk to your neighbors during the lecture. It will be considered an offence.
You are also expected to come to class on time. Lastly, Please turn off your phone ringer and put
the phone on vibrate.
