Idea - My Production is a short film set in 2000, it follows a group of 16 and 17 year
old's as they navigate the troubles of growing up. This coming of age story will be a
drama however very comedic and will take a lot of inspiration from Edgar Wrights
work as he blends genres together to create masterpieces of cinema. The movie will
follow one main character as he wakes up and goes to about his daily life on a
Friday, He hears about a party from one of his friends and takes it on himself to get
booze and any other substances for a party later that evening. This leads him and
his other two mates on a strange evening as they come up with a dramatic, over the
top way of acquiring alcohol. This short film will not be taking itself seriously and will
use on the nose references from the time in visual ways. Iv'e taken a large amount of
inspiration from 'Spaced' as it is a TV show that came out in my set time period and
is creative in the way that it tells stories and uses comedy. This is mostly thanks to
Edgar Wrights creative ways of storytelling.
