Dear Sir or Madam:

In my Research Paper, I hope to answer the question: How has Christianity influenced the culture,
morality, and traditions of Western civilization throughout history? I am interested in investigating
how much Christianity has impacted different aspects of this society despite persecution.

For the Experimental Project, I want to organize , Compassion Sunday at my church. Compassion
Sunday is an opportunity for people to donate to Compassion International, a non-profit Christian
organization that aims to support children in third world countries. People can also sign up to
sponsor a child long-term. I hope to reinforce the value of compassion by volunteering as a leader at
Awana, a club where children learn about God and memorize Bible verses. I plan on asking Kelly
Alexander, an Awana director at Northcreek Church, to be my mentor.

This project involves library research, interviews with church leaders, coordinating an event,
volunteer service at a church club, and analysis of various cultures, traditions, and moral beliefs.

This will be challenging for me because I will be teaching preschool children about biblical
doctrines and helping them develop a moral character. I will also spend time planning Compassion
Sunday and working with my church to coordinate this event. The event and my volunteer
experience will be detailed in my Digital Portfolio. I anticipate that the entire project will take 20-40
hours of work.
