III: The movie entitled “Wonder” by Stephen Chbosky is all about a 10 year old kid named
August “Auggie” Pullman with a facial deformity that he even gone through a lot of surgeries at
an early age because of the car accident happened when he was inside his mother’s womb. He
was a very smart child who likes “Star Wars” and mine craft and he was also fueled by all
American fantasies of going to outer space. He loves to go out wearing an astronaut helmet given
by his sister’s best friend. Since he looks different compared to a normal kid, he always got
nervous on going out. He was home-schooled by his mom and on his fifth grade, her mom
enrolled him at a middle school where he met Jack Will and becomes bests of friends. He always
got bullied because of the deformity of his face but it is not a hindrance for him to do things a
normal kid usually do. Later on, from being the nobody in school, he becomes the school hero
and everybody congratulated him even the kids who always bullied him before. And there he
realized that everybody is fighting a battle in their lives, and everybody deserves the standing
ovation for being strong.

IV: This movie “Wonder” adapted from R.J Palacio’s novel focuses on how a certain
person with abnormality faced a day to day battle of their lives. I love the way the director
touched the feelings of a normal people to not underestimate a unique people because we are all
beautiful in our own way. We are all equal in God’s eyes. However, another character portrayed
by Isabela Vidovic as Via also caught my attention. She is Auggie’s sister which her wants never
comes first. She played the most complicated character of an understanding sister but fighting
battles alone.
Their character plays a very important role on Understanding the Self because I have
seen how they consider each other’s feelings. I saw how Auggie accepted his condition and
become happy in the end. On the other hand, I have seen Via on how she gets affected by the
family she was born in.

V: “Wonder” touched the hearts of its viewers where it reminds us that we can always
work out on where we are right now and what kind of problem we faced right now. Even we are
Auggie or a more normal person, we are always a prison of our own insecurities instead of being
stressed out, let us always look on the beauty of it. Blessing comes in an unexpected way. Maybe
what we are facing right now is a blessing in disguise where God wants us to experience it
because there is something beautiful we can learn from it.
