NARRATIVE REPORT

It was Sunday, 10:00 a.m., we went to Gaisano Mactan Island Mall because it was the

place we planned to meet, last Friday. As we were complete, we walked around Gaisano and

asked those people selling different products. The first thing we did in approaching sellers was

introducing who we were and why we made an interview with them and asking them if their

salary is in piece-rate basis, there was one seller whom we asked and she said that her salary is

commission-based, but sadly when we asked permission if we can do an interview with her, she

refused. So what we did is we went to another store in Gaisano but sadly most of them are

given a salary that is an hourly basis. We did our plan B that is to go in the Public Market. We

went outside Gaisano and crossed the pedestrian line where we chose those jeeps that were

bound to Public Market. When we arrived, we immediately went to places where their salary is

on a piece-rate basis. First, we went to a barbershop, the people there were very approachable,

so when we did an interview they were able to answer all our questions with no hesitation. The

second stop was in a beauty salon, we made an interview with a manicurist and like the barber,

she also was able to answer our questions. Our last stop was a seller of an ice candy, at first,

she refused but her daughter said that "Voice record ra man ma dili man picturan", so by that,

the seller agreed that she will answer our questions.
