RUSSIA

Russia has four seasons of the year, they are winter, spring, summer and autumn. Winter
starts in December and ends in February. In winter, the temperatures can fall below -20°C,
there is a lot of snow and the days become shorter than the nights. Spring starts in March and
ends in May. The weather is warm and the flower are bloomimg. Summer starts in June and
ends in August. The temperature becomes warm even hot which makes it possible for a good
harvest of grain, fruit and vegetables and the days become longer than the night. Summer is
one of the best times to visit Russia and the months of July and August are the highlight of the
tourist season. Autumn starts in September and ends in November.
If you come to Russia, there are 2 foods that you have to try. The first one is pelmeni.
Pelmeni is a traditional Russian meat filled dumplings. Pelmeni dough is made from wheat
flour mixed with water, and egg. Russian people usually make this in winter season and it
usually served in Christmas dinner. The second one is coulibiac. Coulibiac is a type of Russian
pirog usually filled with salmon or sturgeon. The pie is baked in a pastry shell, The dish was
so popular in Russia in the early part of the 20th century.
There are two places that you should visit if you go to Russia for holiday. The first one
is Saint Basil's Cathedral. It is located at the side of Red Square, which is a UNESCO World
Heritage Site and one of huge political and historical significance for Russia. It has unique
architecture that attracts visitors to visit this cathedral. The building is shaped as a flame of a
bonfire rising into the sky which is not only unique to the period in it was built but to any other
period. The other tourist attraction in Russia is The moscow kremlin or The Kremlin. It is
Moscow's most famous historical and political landmark. It is a fortified complex located at
the heart of moscow and overlooking with red square.
Many people in Russia are very familiar with walking, because the conditions of the
pedestrian path are wide and quite comfortable. In Russia, you can get around by metro,
tramval, train or taxi. If we use metro especially in Moscow we can enjoy the arcitecture of
Russian metro station which is famous for its luxurious and beautiful. Tramval or known as
tram is similiar to a bus but it runs on a series of rails and stops at the bus stop. If you need
privacy as a passenger you can use lingo taxi.
If you are going to spend the night in Russia you can visit The Lotte Hotel Moscow. it
is a hotel that located on Novinskiy Boulevard in the very heart of Moscow. The decoration is
fabulous and the rooms are comfortable and luxurious. This hotel is suitable for traveler who
come for holiday because this hotel also located near Russian tourist attractions.
Visiting Russia is not complete if you don't bring souvenirs. To find cheap souvenirs
with good quality, we can find them in Izmailovo Market. This market is crowded with locals
and tourists. This market sells antiques, souvenirs and handicrafts. Besides being a heaven for
tourists, the location is also easy to reach. GUM or Glavnyj Universalnyj Magazin which means
Main Universal Store is the biggest shopping centre in Rusia. This mall was built in the end of
the 18th century by Queen Catherine II. GUM is the most favorite shopping mall in Rusia. In
this mall, there are various types of high-end branded brands such as chanel, gucci and many
more.
If you are in Russia and want to buy souvenirs for your family, don’t forget to buy the
most popular doll in Russia, The Matryoshka doll. It is a set of wooden dolls of decreasing size
placed one inside another. The name "matryoshka" is a small form of the Russian women's first
name "Matryona" or "Matriosha". The Matryoshka doll is usually round and painted to
resemble a young farmer who wears traditional Russian clothes.
