Hypnosis -what it is and isn’t...
With the continual growing interest in personal development and self help, more and more people are wondering just
exactly what is hypnosis used for, as well as discovering the benefits of hypnosis. Some may believe after having
watched it a stage hypnosis show, that hypnosis is a form of mind control that one individual has over another. This
however is not the case as the individuals who have volunteered did so by their own free will.

This article will discuss some of the uses hypnosis is used for, beyond the scope of mere entertainment. Any time an
individual finds themselves "stuck in a rut", whether that be from an addiction of sorts or any number of other issues
controlled by the mind, then they can utilise hypnosis in order to break the negative patterns they endure. Outside of
stage hypnosis, hypnosis is nothing to do with clucking like a chicken, and everything to do with taking control of your
own subconscious mind.
Hypnosis -what it is and isn’t...
A common misconception is that hypnosis is only good for weight loss and stop smoking, however the reality of the situation
is any issue whatsoever that has to do with our mindset, thought patterns, beliefs and habits, can be treated successfully
with hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Issues such as stress management, anxiety, depression, motivation and many more have
been greatly improved using hypnotherapy and hypnosis.

Even recently, many physical ailments (especially pain management) has been assisted with hypnosis. In certain
circumstances, this allows an individual (under the guidance of their medical doctor) to reduce medication and still be able
to live without agony that pain can often bring. Hypnotherapy is the clinical application of hypnosis in order to effect positive
physical or mental changes with an individual.
Hypnotic Language...
Hypnotic language is the language of influence. It makes it possible to change people's mind and get other people to do
whatever you want just through the power of words. It is a psychological tool that is more powerful than a gun or a rocket,
because it allows you to capture people's minds and hearts. They will be willing and eager to do what it is that you want
them to do.

The first systematic approach of studying and analyzing hypnotic language was done by Richard Bandler and John Grinder,
the founders of NLP (neurolinguistic programming). They learned from Milton H. Erickson, the probably greatest hypnotist of
the 20th century. Dr. Erickson could put people in deep hypnotic trance states during the course of a normal conversation.
He was a friendly old man who would talk with you about the weather on a nice summer day, and before you knew it, you
were totally tranced out.
Hypnotic Language...
Dr. Erickson used hypnosis for therapeutic purposes. He helped people to overcome smoking, obsessive behaviors,
destructive habits and to in general gain more control over their lives.

He was a master of hypnotic language, but he did it in a very intuitive way. It took the dedicated and systematic approach of
Bandler and Grinder to make it possible for others to duplicate Erickson's results when working with hypnosis.

If you want to study hypnosis, one of the most important things you can do is to study hypnotic language patterns. You can
think of hypnotic language patterns as elements of hypnosis, that you can combine to create powerful psychological effects.

One example of a language pattern is the "lack of referential index." Here, you essentially say: "People can learn hypnosis
very quickly given the right circumstances."
Hypnotic Language...
Notice that we did not define who these "people" are. That is why the listener will by themselves fill in the blanks and
essentially "guess", based on their own experiences and beliefs. This is based on our innate desire to make sense of things.
However, this also allows an experienced hypnotist to lead you through psychological processes that you would never want
them to be able to even get close to.

There are dozens of more hypnotic language patterns. The best way to learn them is to pick one pattern every single week,
study it and practice it all week long in your typical everyday conversation.

This way, you will quickly gain an intuitive understanding, and will be able to naturally integrate hypnotic language into your
everyday communication and become a much more persuasive person.
Self -Hypnosis...
What is Self Hypnosis?

Self hypnosis is a relative of hypnosis. It simply replaces a hypnotherapist or other qualified individual with the client. In
other words, the hypnotist is also the client. Self hypnosis, like hypnosis, is tool of self discovery and awareness. It is a
means through which anyone can access the subconscious mind. You do so deliberately with the intent to alter the current
pattern of thought held by the subconscious. In doing so, you begin to lay the groundwork for change.

The Purpose of Self Hypnosis

The purpose of Self hypnosis varies in accordance with the individual's needs. The basic function of this technique is to help
an individual reach deep down into his or her subconscious. In doing so, you can retrain it to reflect and embrace what you
wish to accomplish. Some typical purposes of self hypnosis include:

● To help with a diet

● To improve your overall self image
● To help you overcome any fears
● To stop such things as procrastination
● To aid you in addressing phobias
● To assist you in improving your memory

The Tools of Self Hypnosis

The tools you use are basic. You need a quiet place - particularly essential at the beginning. You need to create, purchase
or download various audio aids. These contain basic scripts to help you reach your subconscious. They also contain the
specific messages you wish your subconscious to accept.

You need to make some time for the session. This should occur on a regular, preferably daily, basis. The setting should not
only be quiet but comfortable. It needs to feel safe.
