DESASTRE NUCLEAR- FUKUSHIMA

On March 11, 2011 in Fukushima-Japan, there happened one of the most serious accidents
in the nuclear facilities, catalogued as the strongest case that I present the country.

An earthquake followed by a tsunami I provoke panic in the population before unfavorable

situation. These natural disasters initiated the nuclear catastrophe in both Fukushima's head
offices, designed to satisfy the energetic needs of Tokyo. The above mentioned head offices
turned out to be seriously damaged as a result of the earthquake of magnitude nine with
epicentre in the Ocean Pacific Ocean that I provoke a tsunami making paralyzed the
activities of both nuclear power stations. The earthquake I cut the flow of electric power
and automatically the regenerators diesel began his functioning to spread energy, but to the
contact with the water the movement of the plant is stopped and there is suspended the
mechanism of refrigeration that possesses six water reactors in boiling.

In the nuclear power there are three principal functions, to stop, to cool and to contain.
When the system of cooling interrupts the situation I deteriorate. Given the magnitude of
the incident declared itself nuclear state of emergency and one proceeded to the evacuation
of the population of Fukushima in order that the persons are not exposed to the Radioactive
Iodine related to the cancer of thyroid.

They started taking measurements to diminish the temperature of the reactors (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
injecting water of sea, opening the valves of I sniff of gases, using the emergency
generators of the reactor 6, cooling the swimming pools of fuel with vehicles of pumping,
between others, but on having passed enough time with degrees of high heat in the reactors
I unleash a series of hurts as the fundimiento of fuel that I liberate radioactive substances to
the air and chemical reactions that produced big quantities of hydrogen and this one on
having be mixed with to the air generates a highly inflammable gas that produced
explosions of several reactors (1, 3,4).

In spite of all the procedures and efforts for managing to establish the reactors, not they
managed all to assure them. This accident I cause desert in Fukushima for the great quantity
of radioactive that spread in the area and put in great danger the workers who realized
activities in the nuclear plant. After Fukushima's accident there must be taken
measurements that avoid another event as this one, it should check the nuclear facilities in
the whole world. Especially it is necessary to verify the vulnerability first of all type of
external events, not alone earthquakes: tornadoes, floods etc. In addition, of the seismicity
verifies in the nuclear emplacements one for one, it is also that to do with the facilities that
could affect them.

It is true that the traffic is killed by more people than the nuclear accidents, but the risk of
circulating in a car is assumed for whom it does it. Nevertheless, the nuclear risk is imposed
on the population, for it it is better to get ready not to complain us causing hurt.
