B. Statistical Treatment

statistically treated. The weighted mean for each item was acquired using the
formula:
Thus,
The Leadership Training Seminar obtained a rating of 4.71 (Very Much) in reference
to how it was managed. The high level of organization was noted extensively by
participants and so were the logistic arrangements (which had a positive effect on their
work). Participants were enthusiastic and appreciated the informative discourses and
learning activities which were conceptualized in a manner suited to the pupils’ new role
as class officers. It created an atmosphere that provided them with an awareness of
leadership responsibility and a chance to develop the skills necessary to meet them.
Most participants felt the amount of content offered was just right, and the majority of
participants felt the format was effective. It was enlightening to know that the seminar
program successfully accomplished the objectives of the training. This was evident by
the 4.60 (Very Much) rating under the area of, “the objectives of the leadership training

leadership concepts, tasks, skills and know-how’s that will provide them with the
groundwork when it comes to managing their class.
The pupils gave a 4.79 (Very Much) rating in reference to the worth and applicability of
the learnings they gained from the activities. The training provided a myriad of specific
and very useful information appropriate to the performance of their duties and
responsibilities. The seminar experiences confirmed that pupil leadership is valuable in
meeting the school’s goal of providing an effective learning environment for its class
officers. The activities have been judiciously chosen as a way of processing the pupils’
cognitive skills to circumspect, to be listened to, and fully express issues concerning
classroom governance.
It could also be gleaned from the data, that the class officers recognized the counselor’s
competency in the conduct of her role as facilitator. The rating of 4.74 (Very Much)
reflected how the counselor was well prepared and presented the content in a
professional manner. The effectiveness of facilitation was evaluated for presenting
concepts, methodologies, and strategies for discussion of leadership issues and
interests.
The topics presented and the activities included in it were timely and interesting (4.68,
Much). Participants found the training relevant to their leadership task as this enhanced
their understanding and gained new knowledge and insight of the topics presented. The
activities have been very informative and liked the guidance on how to prepare for their
role to carry out effective classroom governance. The ideas and points acquired was a
way to draw out, reinforce and facilitate creative learning and the development of skills
related to leadership.
The pupils’ participation in the training, which garnered a mean rating of 4.53 (Much),
indicated how much they appreciated all the activities. They were found to pay attention
and respond appropriately to the discourses given (expressed their thoughts and
insights), group work and games. To encourage livelier group participation, rewards
through the form of treats were handed out and encouraging comments were given.
It could also be said that the officers considered the entire training successful (4.92, Very
Much). Participants were generally highly satisfied with the activities and had their
expectations met. Practical knowledge regarding the principles of leadership brought
about a better understanding of the function, systems and structures of such. Hopefully,
this will lead to the identification and furtherance of the most promising initiatives to
espouse when they are in the actual classroom set-up.
The responses below are the open-ended statements aimed at drawing out the
pupils’ comments and suggestions regarding the activity:
The second part of the evaluation proffers a rich amount of feedback through their
comments, by which they could explain their rating, providing insight to the evaluation
process, as to how the training activity could have served its purpose in a better way.
This provides an opportunity for the Leadership Training Seminar organizers to
determine what lessons can be learnt in order to improve the outcome of future training
activities.
