DRUG AWARENESS AND PREVENTION

The prevelance of illegal drug use in the Philippines is lower than the global average,
according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. President Rodrigo Duterte
has claimed thar the country could become a ‘narco-state’. two of the most used and
valuable illegal drugs in the country are methamphetamine hydrochloride (known locally
as shabu) and marijuana. The ilagan Police conducted a symposium so that students and
teachers aware of this situation. The issue of drug abuse has been already been with us
for a very long time. Knowing the adverse effects of drug abuse in the society’s culture
and general well-being, many measures have been proposed and implemented by experts
in order to reduce and relieve, if not totally eradicate these effects. One such measure is
drug prevention education.

Connectively, during the symposium at Isabela State University- Ilagan Campus

conducted drug symposium aims to enhance the teachers and students about the
knowledge of drug preparedness. Ilagan police also explain the different drugs, and
teenagers are the most victims of marijuana and shabu they also called this as ‘singhot’,
another is there are what they call double barrel, oplan tokhang which they do in Ilagan
City and high value target. There are also five stages of oplan tokhang (validation and
correction of information, validate, personal, surrender, and monitoring), one stage of
high value target ( arrest ).

users and some of teenagers use this to make the cool in our society but the are wrong
those who take drugs are the useless person in this society why? Because using drugs are
just like you want to die in a minute. Reasons why people use drugs are lots of family
problem, peer pressure/ curiosity and weak personality. How to avoid Drug Addiction?

AWARENESS, SHARES.

As part of drug prevention, Isabela State University- Ilagan Campus conducted

Saturday class for lecture, actively participated more than four hundred students of ISU -
students campus facilitated by ten teachers.

Too many young people across the world still die every year because of drugs, either
as a direct result of drug abuse or indirectly. Drugs is not healthy nor medicines that take
every minute, drugs is not the solution for your problem thus, it brings you a problem,
drug addiction is a powerful demon that can sneak up on you. So as a youth and as a
student, I just leave a message, “ WAG MAG DROGA! ITO’Y HINDI MAHALAGA!
MAG ARAL KA PARA SA IYONG KINABUKASAN!”.
