The SLS Core Stage is the major development effort in the Space Launch System, the nation's next human exploration launch
vehicle. SLS is a significant step on our nation’s path toward the human exploration of deep space. It will define the direction of the
U.S. Space Program for decades. The Space Launch System will be the largest launch vehicle ever produced, more capable even
than the Saturn V rocket which took humans to the moon.
The Manufacturing Operations 2nd Level Managers report to the Operations Senior Leaders at Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF).
Primary responsibilities include execution of a complex development program at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility, New
Orleans. Specific areas of responsibility include Dry Structures and Weld Centers, TPS & Instrumentation, or Integration &
Checkout across a 24/7 operation.
The 2nd Level Managers will lead and develop a team of first line managers, shift managers, and a growing team of technicians,
responsible to fabricate and assemble product across multi-manufacturing disciplines and factory areas. Additionally, the 2nd
Level Managers will be responsible for schedule execution and production processes.

Decisions made by manufacturing operations 2nd Level Managers have significant impact on SLS crew safety, program execution,
cost, quality, schedule performance, and customer relationships that influence customer satisfaction and the probability of earning
future NASA business.
This position requires a leadership capability that collaborates across the manufacturing factory areas including, production
engineering managers and teams, manufacturing integration teams, who lead the operations control center, quality leaders, NASA
customer, Boeing stakeholders, and direct reports. Significant focus on manufacturing excellence and execution is mandatory.

Qualifications
Additional information:
• Candidates for this position will require the ability to obtain badging for NASA facility.
• This is a sensitive safety position subject to NASA, requiring random drug testing.
Work Authorization:
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §
120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
