INVESTORS WHO ARE INVESTING IN VARIOUS SOCIAL

PRVILEDGES SOCIETY) IN INDIA
1) JAMSETJI NUSSERWANJI TATA was one who knew how to acquire and how to dispose of a fortune,” wrote
Frank Harris in Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata: A Chronicle of His Life. Jamsetji’s “breadth of vision and genius
for organization” combined with his altruistic and benevolent nature was at the core of the Tata Group's
philosophy of giving back to society. The trusts are working with the government to develop tier one, tier
two and tier three centers, and are going to provide a cancer care facility in each medical college so that
there is more access The Tata Trusts, which hold two-thirds of the shareholding of Tata Sons, have also
worked tirelessly to uplift the underprivileged sections of society.

2) KIRAN MAZUMDAR-SHAW or Nadar — put aside less than 0.2% of their wealth for philanthropy, compared
to at least 2% by their US counterparts.

3) AZIM PREMJI- he also transferred some shares to the Trust or the Foundation he had set up in 2001. All
told, between 2001 and 2019, Premji donated Wipro shares worth nearly $12 billion in a staggered manner
to the endowment. This includes the announcement made by Premji earlier this year, where he made the
country’s single-largest donation, transferring economic ownership of 34% of his shares in Wipro worth
$7.5 billion to Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives and Azim Premji Trust.
It was fired by the spirit of his mother, Gulbanoo M.H. Hasham Premji, a trained doctor who spent a
lifetime helping set up a children’s orthopedic hospital at Haji Ali in Bombay, even while she served as
chairperson of Wipro after the death of her husband in August 1966.
“Amongst the key influences on him were his mother’s example of having set up and run a charitable
hospital for children for 50 years, and Mahatma Gandhi’s idea of trusteeship of wealth," said Anurag Behar,
chief executive officer of Azim Premji Foundation. “He actively started thinking of philanthropy in 1999-00
including setting up the Foundation"

4) NEETA AMBANI - "At Reliance Foundation, our vision is to build an inclusive India by pioneering a holistic
model to address our nation’s multifaceted development challenges, and contribute to its collective
aspirations. Central to our philosophy is the commitment to enhance the quality of life of people from
marginalized and vulnerable communities, by empowering them and catalyzing change through innovative
and sustainable solutions. Our steadfast endeavor is to create replicable and scalable models of
development through an integrated approach in the true Reliance spirit of maximizing societal value for all,
and making it a movement."
