Organizational studies comprise different areas that deal with the different aspects of the
organizations, many of the approaches are functionalist but critical research also provide
alternative frame for understanding in the field. Fundamental to the study of management is
organizational change.
With the recent historical turn, there is growing interest in historical organization studies,
promising a closer union between organizational and historical research whose validity derives
from historical veracity and conceptual rigor, enhancing understanding of historical,
contemporary and future-directed social realities.
The study conducted in Oil Palm India ltd kollam helps to analyse it's functional departments
and operations and how these different departments coordinates smooth working of the
organization to achieve it's objectives.
This study also provides information about it's history, evolution and analysis of present
performance and finally, it tries to put forward some suggestions to establish a future vision for
the company.
The study makes an attempt to understand the organizational process and procedures taking
place in each functional department and to compare with the theoretical aspect of
Management. The study will also helps the management students to get a practical exposure.
The study covers topic like company profile, product profile and functioning of various
departments etc. The study involves collection of both primary and secondary data.
Primary data
Primary data is data that is collected by a researcher from first-hand sources, using methods like
surveys, interviews, or experiments.
Primary data has been collected through opinion survey of employees, various departments and
by the lively interaction with the department heads.
Secondary data
Secondary data refers to data that is collected by someone other than the user.
Secondary data was collected through the company profiles, company magazines, annual
reports, websites and from different publications of organization etc.
