Game
BY STEP 2ND
The players must shoot the ping-pong balls
DIRECTION OF inside the arcs of the
headbands.
The player must apply an unbalanced force towards the ping-pong ball
tomake it move along the inclined platform. Considering the kinetic
friction, gravitational force, and normal force already acting upon the ping-
pong ball on the table, the goal of the player is to apply the right amount
of blowing force to make the ping-pong ball move and to shoot it inside
the headbands. Consistency of the blowing force is required to move and
shoot the ping-pong balls.
EXPLANATION OF THE GOAL
The ping-pong ball must not touch the players’ lips. If the ball falls off the
table because of too much applied force (blowing force), the players must
return to the starting point and blow the ping-pong ball again until they
accomplish the goal of the game or run out of time. The player who is able
to shoot all three (3) pig-pong balls with the shortest amount of time
before one minute will be deemed as the Ultimate Physics Minute To Win
It Champion. Failure to comply with the said rules will result to
disqualification.

EXPLANATION OF APPLICATION
Ball—Blow Motion entails and requires the all three of
Newton’s Laws of Motion
Law of Inertia
An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in
motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless
acted upon by an unbalanced force. As the ball is placed on
top of the table on the starting point, it is at rest and no
unbalanced forces are acting on it since it is not moving and
not accelerating. Once a player blows air towards the ping-
pong ball, it begins to move the direction of the blowing force
with a magnitude of how hard the player has blown air
towards the ball. The blowing force a the player is the
unbalanced force applied to the ping-pong ball and this the
ball begins to move and accelerate
EXPLANATION OF APPLICATION
Law of Acceleration
The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly
proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as
the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object. As the
ball moves a long the inclined table, its acceleration is given by its mass
and the net force acting on it brought by the different forces applied to it
in the x- and y-axis. With constant mass, the lesser the blowing force a
player applies, the slower the acceleration of the ping-pong ball and the
slower it spins and moves along the inclined table. The opposite happens
when the blowing force is stronger. The mass of the ping-pong ball gives
it its inertia. With constant force applied, the greater the mass the ping-
pong ball has, the slower it moves around the table since it has more
inertia and is more difficult to move. The opposite happens when its
mass is lesser;
EXPLANATION OF APPLICATION
Law of Interaction
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. As the ping-
pong ball rests on top of the table, gravitational force acts on it. This is
given by its weight, which is the product of its mass and the acceleration
due to gravity (numerical value: -9.81m/s^2). As stated by the third law,
this is referred to as the action force. The reaction force on the ping-pong
ball is the normal force of the table acting on it. This can be derived by
utilizing the formula of summation of forces at the y-axis. Since the table
is inclined and has an angle measurable from the x-axis, the formula for
the normal force is n = mgcos(theta).
