In Buddhism, the word “Bodhisattva” mean any person who does things in their

life in the direction same as Bhuddha. More precisely, on the road to becoming a truly

enlightened buddha. The word “bodhisattva” is made up from two words which are

bodhi, meaning enlightenment, and sattva, meaning a being. Some of the followers of

Buddhism have a thought that a person who follows the path of enlightenment can

eventually become a Buddha lastly.

The path of the bodhisattva is the path followed by a person from the time he or

she first obtains bodhisattva status until reaching the full buddhahood. There is no

difficulty with the meaning of bodhi but the real problem is sattva. However, the

explanations given for the etymology of bodhisatta in Pali commentaries. The Sanskrit of

bodhisatta could equally be bodhisakta, meaning directed toward enlightenment, or it

could be bodhisakta, meaning capable of enlightenment. In Buddhism, there are three

types of enlightenment. There is the enlightenment of those who heard and followed the

teaching of the Buddha attaining nirvana, becoming an arhat and thus putting an end to

all types of suffering. Finally, there is the supreme, full enlightenment of a buddha. Since

bodhi means "enlightenment" and three forms of enlightenment have been established,

therefore the word bodhisattva has also been recognized as referring to individuals on

each of these three "vehicles."

Maitreya is a bodhisattva who will appear on Earth in the future, achieve complete

enlightenment, and teach the pure dharma to the people on earth. We also called Maitreya

as “The Buddha of the future.” Maitreya's name derives from the Sanskrit ' maitri, '

meaning ' absolute love-kindness. ' Maitreya, or the Buddha of the future, has many
myths surrounding his image, but these myths are hard to find since this Buddha has not

yet arrived. Maitreya's ceremonial worship is more prevalent than the mythology that

portrays this bodhisattva and explains it. It is said that Maitreya Buddha would come to

re-teach the Dharma once Buddhism is in decline and the teachings of the present

Gautama Buddha have fallen out of existence.
