Production Log

Date Action Taken

On the first day of creating my short movie I and my
Day 1
group were deciding on what to film so we started
5/11/19
brainstorming and coming up with ideas, we
manage to come up with ideas at the end of the day
and evaluated on it more the next day
I and my group I started creating the pre-production
Day 2
log for this i assigned one job to each person in the
11/11/19
group e.g storyboard, screenplay, call sheet,
narrative and location recce. after we all finished
the job we were assigned we put all the ideas
together and was ready to film
Now we have all the pre-production stuff ready we
Day 3
12/11/19 started filming when filming i went out to book a
camera with someone from our studio. once i got
my camera and tripods i went to the first place our
scene starts which is at kamar house. this day didn’t
go too well as when we started the camera wasn’t
the right one as it didn’t have the right shutters. so
we used an iPhone however the footage on the
iPhone wasn’t the best so we had to reschedule for
another day.
Today I went out to reschedule the filming for me
Day 4
19/11/19 and my other group the other day, this time I made
sure I got a camera with a good battery and also
lense. I also booked out a Tripod with a camera
charger as I was keeping the camera overnight. On
this day I filmed the opening sequence to my film.
For this, I started off by taking pictures of the
surroundings for the location recce. Now I’ve done
this we started filming i was the main protagonist in
the opening scene. I set up the camera for Bertie to
record and do a pan around the room which then
end with me in bed sleeping about to wake up. After
we got shots of me and David chime character
getting ready we finished and packed up, i picked up
the camera and uploaded the footage onto my
laptop where i put it onto one drive where all my
other team members can view it.

In my group we went out to film more footage, this

Day 5
25/11/19 footage had scenes of the two footballers running to
training in the dark. I found this harder than I
thought because some shots I wanted to film were
more difficult than expected. I found filming difficult

on this day because some people were unavailable.
At the end of this shoot, I found out that the filming
will not be good due to continuity and how dark it
will be so at the end of this shoot it turned out to be
a waste.

On the camera, i tried to turn up the iso which

would allow light in to make this clip brighter i
raised it to about 3200 iso however it just didn't
look original so i packed up the camera and went
out the next day to film the same scene but under
better circumstances.

On the next day, I and my group went out to film

Day 6
another scene, we arranged this on social media to
26/11/19
stay in contact with each other, on this day we
managed to film in 2 different areas. the first area
we filmed at was at Kamar’s house brought all the
equipment and set it up at his house. as i was in the
scene i had to set up the camera for a perfect set up
as the rest of my group aren’t confident with the
settings of a camera. i put the shutter at 800 iso
which is normal lighting. i left it like this as it gives
off a natural look and i mainly used natural light for
the main light source. in this scene i recorded myself
walking and getting ready to leave my house when
we switched location which was at my house i
filmed David chime getting ready i turn up the iso to
about 1200 as the lighting was pretty dark and has
to fit with the other scenes so the audience knows
it’s about the right time.

following the storyboard that i made we filmed a

short trip of the characters which are me and David
chime walking to training which was a pitch, we
booked out. after we finished i put back the
equipment as i was taking it all to my house.
On snapchat we made a group chat with me, Bertie,
day 7
kamar and David chime in the group chat i asked
28/11/19
when everyone is available to work and film the
next scenes we were struggling a bit as not
everyone was able to film on most day but at the
end, we found a date where everyone can film. The
next scene me and my group went out to film was
the progress/montage scene, for his scene i had to
bring extra equipment such as football, football
cones, excess clothes to multi-role as not all cast
arrived, i also brought the most important thing
which was the camera. For this scene, we arrived at
the location around 11:30 am to maintain the

continuity. i set up the equipment such as the tripod
and the props we were using in the video. i st the iso
to around 800 which is the normal amount of light
so looks very natural and not forced. I took various
shots such as handheld shots, over the shoulder
shots and more shots like this which helps look
more lively as if i had the camera on a tripod all the
time it will look very unrealistic and the audience
would most likely get bored of watching my short
movie. I got many point of views from different
angles this would make it easier for me when it
comes to editing, once we finished this shoot i took
all the equipment home David Chime packed up the
tripods whilst i got all the football equipment.
today i booked out the equipment which was a
30/12/20
gimbal, camera and tripod. me and David Chime
19
went to the gym to film us progressing. we took lots
of different shots from different angles as for most
of the shots i had the iso at 800 just to maintain the
continuity of lighting. i got high angles, pans and
pedestals when taking these shots, i had to make
sure it was in the sink with the motion of David
Chime as it just makes the motion look way much
better. in the end, i took the equipment home to
give back to peter.
On this day me David chime, Kamar and Bertie went
05/01/20
to kamar back garden. Here we filmed long shots
20
and two-shots, with kamar and David Chime being
the subjects. Here i used a tripod to just get still
camera footage. Once again i had the iso at 800 as
it just helps maintain lighting continuity for my film.
We also took shots. the angle io took this shot from
was a high angle/over the shoulder shot. the
lighting here may have been a bit dark but the focus
was not aimed at the subject it was more at the
MacBook as you can see kamar supporting and
being a coach towards David chime. for this shot, i
also used a pan to show where i want my audience
focus to be aimed at.

11/01//20 For the last day, I booked out a camera and went to
20 film in the changing room for the ending scene, I
had to help kamar set up the camera so when we
film is ready. the scene has dialogue which helps
gives off the narrative I got 3 different shots from 3
different angles so when it comes to editing I can
have a range to pick from. We managed to get high
angles, over the shoulder and also up-close shots.
The iso we used was around 1200 the reason i used
this was because of the lighting, the lighting in the

rooms was pretty dark and didn’t allow the subject
to be present so i raised it.

Overall the filming with my crew was okay we had

some problems that we managed to get through.
however, we got some nice clips in.
25/01/202 This was the last day for this day i collected all my
0 group’s footage and imported it into my laptop, we
used mine as i was the only one who could do it.
once i imported the footage i applied them ontop
premiere pro cc. I looked through all the footage
and deleted the footage that was not useable or
we’re really bad after i got all the good footage that
i need i put it all into premiere pro cc 2020. i put the
raw footage into a timeline to show narrative and
to make sure it was ready to film and edit.
