Course Description
This course uses the camera to build basic skills in students who have an interest in photography, but no prior experience. Using a combination of lecture,
demonstration, and hands-on exercises, this course will explore the basic photographic techniques and artistic concerns involved in making photographs.
These include camera handling, composition, effective use of light, file management, digital image manipulation and developing a photographic vision.
Prerequisite/s : None
Course Outcome:
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1. Demonstrate an understanding of basic camera functions;


2. Become proficient at the technical aspect of photographing with digital camera;
3. Develop and practice skills using photography tools;
4. Learn to shoot with camera maximizing the quality of the output;
5. Utilize simple photography composition principles when taking photographs;
6. Appreciate more about the art of photography; and
7. Develop the habit of looking closely at the visible world around the students in order to represent it in terms of aesthetics, beauty and truth.
