We do see throughout the Old Testament that God does change people's names;
Abram which means "high father" becomes Abraham, and that means father of many
nations, (Genesis 17:1-5). Sarai, which means my princess became Sarah, and that
name means mother of many nations (Genesis 17: 15–16). Jacob meaning "holder
of the heel" or "supplanter", was given the name Israel that means someone who
prevails with the Eternal( Genesis 32:24-28).
In the New Testament, we see Jesus gave these names to, Simon meaning "he has
heard", Jesus called him Peter, which means a stone (John 1:40-42).
So the question arises did God change Sauls name to Paul, and the answer is quite simple,
and all we got to do is look into the scriptures and see what it says.

Jesus is our Lord's name in English in Greek it Ιησούς/Iisous and in Hebrew it's Yeshua, so

languages.

Abram and said to him,
“I am God Almighty;
Walk before Me, and be blameless. “I will establish My covenant between Me and you,
And I will multiply you exceedingly.” Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,
“As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you,
And you will be the father of a multitude of nations. “No longer shall your name be called
Abram,
But your name shall be Abraham;
For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
