Join us for the annual Valentine's Day Concert and Corazones Exhibtion and Silent
Auction. The concert repertoire includes a tribute to the great Mexican songstress,
Lola Beltran.

Please note that this year the concert has moved to the Jensen Drive location.

You're invited to a piano performance in celebration of Black History month!

Jahrel Pickens is a pianist, organist and songwriter based in Houston, Texas. He

began performing at the age of 15 & has over 25 years of experience. Playing piano
since age 11, Pickens currently holds the position of minister of music at Pilgrim
Branch Baptist Church (a church celebrating it’s 150th anniversary as of June of
2019) & holds residencies at several local clubs playing blues & original tunes, such
as La Carafe and Cottonmouth Club.
Jahrel will be joined by his father, pastor, songwriter, and singer, Herman Pickens.

Performance is upstairs the JSB Music Room (202), an intimate performance space
located inside MECA (Multicultural Education & Counseling through the Arts).
Founded by Ruth Bailey and Elizabeth Sosa Bailey in memory of Jeffrey Samuel
Bailey, their late husband and father, respectively. Housed in Houston’s Historic Dow
School, the JSB Music Room is a place where the spirit of Jeff’s love of music lives
on.
