Namaskar,

I, Apohan and my friend Aanya are here to explain a very famous principle of
hydrodynamic i.e. Bernoulli’s principle through three different demonstrations.
Bernoulli's principle states that when air passes through a constriction, there is an
increase in the speed of the air with a decrease in atmospheric pressure.
Demonstration 1.
In this demonstration a ball is floating in the air above an air blower and is stable.
Explanation: - The floating of pin-pong ball in the air is not mysterious as the air
pressure from the bottom of the ball holds it up.
The ball remains stable in the air is mysterious and can be explained by Bernoulli’s
principle. The Bernoulli’s theorem comes into play when the ball goes off the centre.
Let’s say it moves to the left then the stream of air in the right creates a low pressure
and a high on the other side of the ball. The net pressure put the ball back in the
centre and it remains stable. Even if when we turn the blower sideways the ball hangs
up in the air is due to Bernoulli’s principle.
Demonstration 2.
In this demonstration when air is blown in a funnel the ping pong ball sticks to the
funnel rather than moving up.
When air passes through a constriction between the ball and surface of the funnel a
low pressure is created there and the high atmospheric pressure below the ball hold
it up in the funnel.

Demonstration 3
When we blow air in the horizontal pipe the spray of water come out of the vertical
pipe dipped into the glass of water can be explained with Bernoulli’s principle.
When air is blown above the mouth of the vertical straw a low pressure is created
there and a simultaneous high pressure inside the vertical tube pushes the water up
the tube and the air blows it as a spray.
