Ⅰ.

Introduction

The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) plans to support the “Science Master Program” for
science and engineering professionals in cooperating partners through University of Science
and Technology(UST) that receives funding from the Ministry.

UST is the only university associated with national research institutes that foster top talent in
science and technology in national strategic sectors. It is operated by a unique educational
system that combines education with following three elements:

1) Excellent researchers of government-funded research institutes who have led Korea’s


science and technology

2) Cutting-edge research facilities and infrastructure

3) Accumulated excellent know-how of research


The Science Master Program offers the below for successful candidates, for two years to receive
a master’s degree.

1) Air fares for the first entry, dormitory costs

2) Research funding (KRW 1,900,000/month) when the course starts (after Sep 2021)

3) Medical check-up, student counseling, and comprehensive welfare insurance

Ⅱ. Eligibility

Applicants with a bachelor’s degree or who are


expected to receive one by August 2021

Master’s Program ※ Those acknowledged as having qualifications equivalent to or


greater than those required to obtain a master’s degree under the
relevant laws and regulations

※ Each country can recommend up to two candidates who have proficiency in English

Ⅵ. Procedures

In order to participate in this program, a completed application form, as per these guidelines,
should be submitted to the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT, UST and the Korean embassy
in your country. Please refer to the following steps when submitting the application form:

Step 1. Filling out the form (Appendix-1)

- A ministry that wants to participate in the program should fill out the Project Concept
Paper attached to this document in detail.

- Project Concept Paper can be given to a relevant government official (ex. Ministry of
Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, etc.) to obtain an additional signature.

Step 2. Submitting the form (Official Sector)

- The ODA supervising department(coordinating organization) submit the Project


Concept Paper with an official letter while expressing the willingness to the program to
the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (in your country) by February 14, 2020.

Step 3. Submitting the form (Appendix-2)
