Leadership Experiences and Goals  

I will develop my leadership in Curriculum (Science) 

■ GOAL: Provide cross cutting concept connection to students 


to allow them to better investigate the world.  
■ RATIONALE: Exploring connections across the four domains of 
Science allows students to develop a scientific-based view of 
the world around them. Reflects the ​Next Generation Science 
Standards​. 
■ NBPTS: Proposition 2: Teachers know the subjects they teach 
and how to teach those subjects to students 
■ TLMD: Domain 2: Accessing and Using Research to Improve 
Practice and Student Learning  
■ OBJECTIVE: Develop at least one world application project per 
unit for the students (short-term). Help my students develop 
an investigative passion for the world around them 
(long-term). 

I will develop my leadership as a Resource Provider (All Content Areas) 

■ GOAL: Provide assessment tools, new technology, and 


instructional resources to colleagues.  
■ RATIONALE:  According to the Teacher Leadership 
Competencies, it is important for teachers to articulate ways 
to collaboratively improve the implementation of new 
programs and resources.  
■ NBPTS: Proposition 5: Teachers are members of learning 
communities.​ 
■ TLMD: Domain 1. Fostering a Collaborative Culture to Support 
Educator Development and Student Learning     
■ OBJECTIVE: Participate in my school’s adoption of our new 
math curriculum for the 2020-2021 school year (short term). 
Serve on the team for my school’s adoption of new 
technology programs (long term).  

 
I will develop my leadership in Student Assessment (Reading Comprehension) 

■ GOAL: Use a variety of summative and formative assessments 


for increased student learning, instructional improvement, and 
school reading comprehension growth.  
■ RATIONALE: According to the N ​ ational Council of Teachers of 
English ​ literacy assessment is an integral part of literacy 
teaching and learning.  
■ NBPTS: Proposition 3: Teachers are responsible for managing 
and monitoring student learning. 
■ TLMD: Domain 5. Promoting the Use of Assessments and Data 
for School and District Improvement. 
■ OBJECTIVE: Provide weekly assessments to assess specific 
literacy skills, vocabulary, and comprehension (short-term). 
Receive assessment training in our Pearson Realize Reading 
Street curriculum (long-term).  
■ TEACHER INQUIRY: I will develop my informal and formal 
assessment skills through my teacher inquiry.
