EXT.

PLAZA - CITY PARK - NIGHT

EVERYONE is frozen like mannequins.

We float around the scene as CARL (53), a bald white guy,

and TYRONE (28), a tall hip black dude, both grip a silver
bike as if they were statues in a tug of war.

We snake around & glide passed a frozen, preppie WENDY (21)

kneeling over the unconscious body of a handsome, preppie,
JOSH (32).

FLASHBACK

EXT. PLAZA - CITY PARK - NIGHT

Holding a heart-shaped box of chocolates, Josh stands in the

open plaza. He checks the time and smiles.

We swiftly move across the park passing various PARKGOERS,

benches and light posts until we reach -

EXT. PARK BENCH - CITY PARK - NIGHT

Carl relaxes on a bench next to his bud SAM (48). Carl hears
a SCREAM and a THUD.

Carl turns and sees in the distance an angry Tyrone rushing

away from an out-cold Josh sprawled out on the ground.

Wendy rushes from the silver bike to an unconscious Josh.

Tyrone picks up the bike, inspects a dent.

WENDY
Somebody help us. Help.

CARL
(to Sam)
Oh, man. He clobbered her boyfriend
and now he's stealing her bike.

Carl rushes over to the bike.

EXT. PLAZA - CITY PARK - CONTINUOUS

Carl grabs the bike to prevent Tyrone from stealing it.

They struggle. Instead of pulling, Tyrone suddenly pushes
the bike hard sending Carl flying backwards to the ground.

MARCOS (30), a musclebound Latino guy, arrives.

MARCOS
Dafuq is going on here?

Tyrone hops on the bike, pedals away.

CARL
That creep punched this fellow and
stole her bike.

WENDY
I called for an ambulance, but
actually, I...

MARCOS
(to Wendy)
Stay with him until the ambulance
arrives. Understand?

Wendy nods. Marcos bolts after Tyrone on the bike.

CARL
(to Wendy)
Your boyfriend will be okay.

We zip through the park to catch up with Marcos sprinting.

EXT. CITY STREET - NIGHT

Marcos catches up with Tyrone chasing the bike into a dead-

end alley.

EXT. DEAD-END ALLEY - CONTINUOUS

Tyrone is trapped. Marcos pumps his bulging biceps.

TYRONE
Dude, there's been a misunderstanding.

FAST REWIND: We zip backwards in time passed the moment when

Tyrone and Carl struggle with the bike. Tyrone runs in
reverse out of the park until we get to a street corner.

EXT. STREET CORNER - NIGHT

On the street corner, Tyrone laughs with his FRIENDS.

A frantic Wendy rushes up and steals TYRONE'S SILVER BIKE.

Tyrone instantly chases Wendy as she pedals into the park.

EXT. PLAZA - CITY PARK - NIGHT

Tyrone sees Wendy smash his silver bike into Josh. Chocolates
fly everywhere. Josh lands with a THUD.

Wendy rushes from the bike to Josh who lays out-cold on the
ground. Tyrone dashes to his silver bike and examines a dent.

Out of nowhere, Carl grabs Tyrone's silver bike and pulls.

Tyrone struggles to hold onto his bike.

Tyrone pushes the crazy white guy off his bike right when a
musclebound Marcos shows up.

MARCOS
Dafuq is going on here?

An intimidated Tyrone hops on his bike, pedals away.

FAST REWIND: We zip backwards in time passed when Carl and

Tyrone struggle over the bike. Carl reverse jogs backwards
to a bench next to his good bud Sam.

EXT. PARK BENCH - CITY PARK - NIGHT

On their bench, Carl lectures Sam.

CARL
But instead we got the blacks and
homos taking over. We need to take
this country back.

Carl hears a SCREAM and a THUD and turns around.

WENDY
Somebody help us. Help.

Carl sees an angry Tyrone rushing away from an unconscious

Josh as Wendy rushes to Josh's side.

CARL
Oh, man. He clobbered her boyfriend
and now he's taking her bike.

Carl runs over to "rescue" the bike from Tyrone.

SUPER-FAST-FORWARD: We zip forward in time passed Tyrone

and Carl tugging over Tyrone's bike. Carl falls to the ground.
Marcos runs after Tyrone biking away.

EXT. PLAZA - CITY PARK - NIGHT

Carl kneels next to Wendy who holds Josh's hand.

WENDY
(to Josh)
Wake-up. Please wake-up.

CARL
Your boyfriend'll be okay. Relax, doll.
(toward Tyrone & Marcos)
Let the animals tare each other apart.
It'll solve the city's problems.

Wendy spots Josh's yamika on the ground, places it back on

Josh's head.

Carl's face grows sour when he realizes the unconscious man

is Jewish.

CARL
You two have a blast with that
ridiculous beenie cap.

As Carl walks away from the scene, BLAKE (24), a handsome,

blonde-haired, blue-eyed guy, accidentally bumps into Carl.

BLAKE
Excuse me, sir.

CARL
All good, buddy.

Carl struts away. Blake approaches Wendy.

BLAKE
What have you done now, Wendy?

EXT. DEAD-END ALLEY - NIGHT

Tyrone pleads with a furious Marcos.

TYRONE
Dude, there's been a misunderstanding.
This here is my bike. Crazy girl
stole it and ran over that poor dude.

An unsure Marcos contemplates Tyrone's story.

MARCOS
If she confirms your story, you get
the bike.

TYRONE
Fine, man. She's the "bad guy" here.

Marcos rides the bike back to the park as Tyrone sprints

behind him. They enter the park and...

EXT. PLAZA - CITY PARK - CONTINUOUS

Marcos skids to a halt as he sees an out-cold Josh on the

ground completely abandoned. Tyrone looks around for Wendy.

TYRONE
Where'd crazy girl go?

An anguished Marcos kneels next to Josh.

REWIND SUPER-FAST: Marcos & Tyrone quickly reverse away.

Carl & Tyrone struggle over the bike. Josh rises off the
ground as Wendy pedals backwards away from him. Walking
backwards Marcos joins Josh.

EXT. PLAZA - CITY PARK - NIGHT

Holding hands, Marcos, in his muscle shirt, and Josh, in his

polo shirt and yamika, stroll through the park together.

JOSH
Awe, Marcos. Back to the place where
we first met.

MARCOS
Wait right here, Josh. I have another
surprise for you. Back in a sec.

Marcos dashes off across the street.

Josh stands in the park holding a heart-shaped box of

chocolates. He checks the time and smiles.

EXT. CORNER STORE - NIGHT

Marcos buys a rose for his boyfriend Josh.

Marcos hears Wendy's SCREAM and a COMMOTION, so he sprints

back into the park.

EXT. PLAZA - CITY PARK - CONTINUOUS

Marcos sees Tyrone and Carl struggling over a silver bike.

Then to his shock, Marcos discovers Wendy kneeling next to
an unconscious Josh sprawled out onto the ground.

Marcos drops the rose he had just bought for Josh.

MARCOS
Dafuq is going on here?

Tryone pushes Carl off his bike. Tyrone hops on his bike,
pedals away.

FAST FORWARD UNTIL

Marcos runs after Tyrone.

CARL
(to Wendy)
Your boyfriend'll be okay. Relax, doll.

SUPER-FAST REWIND: Marcos comes and goes backwards. Carl and

Tyrone struggle over the bike in reverse. Josh rises up off
the ground as Wendy rides the bike backwards out of the park.
Tyrone runs in reverse back to his friends. Wendy puts
Tyrone's bike back as she runs in reverse to a sidewalk cafe.

EXT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT

Wendy talks with Blake at a table outside a restaurant.

WENDY
I was wrong to think I could fix
your issues. Can't do it anymore.

BLAKE
You think breaking up with me in a
public place will stop me, Wendy?

Blake backhands Wendy across her face. He moves to grab her

hair, but she blocks his hand and stomps his foot.

Wendy throws a cup of water at Blake, so she can flee.

Blake darts after her. Blake grabs Wendy's scarf, but she
unravels it as she makes her escape.

Wendy shoves Blake into a trashcan. Blake tumbles backwards

over it and falls.

Wendy dashes to the street corner where...

EXT. STREET CORNER - CONTINUOUS

She swipes Tyrone's bike and speeds off. Blake runs back to
his car to catch up to Wendy on the bike.

Wendy pedals fast. Tyrone runs after her. She turns into
the city park.

EXT. PLAZA - CITY PARK - NIGHT

Wendy looks back. Tyrone is gaining on her, she pedals hard.

When Wendy looks up, Josh is standing right in front of her.

Wendy SCREAMS.

CRASH.

Josh falls with a THUD as his yamika flies off his head.
And his box of chocolates scatter. Wendy is thrown off the
bike. The bike crashes to the ground. Wheels spinning.

Wendy rushes to Josh. He isn't moving. She kneels down. She

turns Josh over. Feels for a pulse.

WENDY
Sir? Sir! Please wake up. Please.
Somebody help us. Help.

Tyrone catches up, examines his dented silver bike.

SPEED FAST-FORWARD: Carl rushes over, struggles with Tyrone

over the bike. Marcos arrives, follows Carl's tip, runs after
Tyrone leaving Wendy to tend to Josh. Carl sees Josh's yamuka.

EXT. PLAZA - CITY PARK - NIGHT

Carl leaves as Blake accidentally bumps him.

BLAKE
Excuse me, sir.

CARL
All good, buddy.

Wendy sees Blake approaching, but decides to hold her ground.

BLAKE
What have you done now, Wendy?

WENDY
Just go away, Blake. Time to let it
go. I need to take care of this guy.

BLAKE
No. You don't. But you do need to
take care of me. Now move it.

Blake grabs Wendy's wrist. She lands a punch on Blake's face.

BLAKE
Not the face, bitch.

Wendy throws another punch, but Blake grabs both of her hands,
wraps her scarf around her wrists and drags her away.

Sprawled out on the ground, an out-cold Josh is left alone.

EXT. STREET - NIGHT

As Blake pulls Wendy to his car, she struggles to get away.

WENDY
Let me go. I need to help that poor guy.

EXT. PLAZA - CITY PARK - NIGHT

Marcos skids to a halt as he sees an out-cold Josh on the

ground completely abandoned. Tyrone looks around for Wendy.

TYRONE
Where'd crazy girl go?

An anguished Marcos kneels next to Josh. Marcos carresses

Josh's hand, kisses it.

Josh's eyes flutter open as he regains consciousness.

JOSH
(groggy, dizzy)
Was that the surprise, Marcos?

MARCOS
My funny guy. You okay, Josh?

JOSH
Eh. I'll live.

MARCOS
(pointing to Tyrone)
Did this guy punch you?

JOSH
No. I was hit by a woman on a bike.

TYRONE
Now that's what I'm talking about.

Marcos hands over the bike to Tyrone. Tyrone climbs on. In

the distance, Tyrone spots Blake dragging Wendy to his car.

TYRONE
Look, dude, that's crazy girl...

JOSH
Woman.

TYRONE
Crazy woman. She's in trouble. We
should do something.

Marcos looks to Josh for approval.

JOSH
I'm good, Marcos. Go be a hero.
That's why I love you.

Marcos stands on the back wheel rods of Tyrone's bike. Tyrone

pedals fast.

EXT. STREET - NIGHT

Wendy resists as Blake drags her to his car.

BLAKE
Be a good girlfriend for once.

WENDY
I am not your girlfriend anymore.
That's the whole point of breaking
up with you. You don't own me.

Tyrone and Marcos approach as Blake struggles to shove Wendy

into his car.

MARCOS
I suggest you let her go.

BLAKE
Oh, yeah? Who are you two?

TYRONE
We're your worst nightmare if you
don't let her go.

MARCOS
And that means forever. Clearly she
doesn't want you in her life anymore.

BLAKE
What if I don't listen to you punks?

TYRONE
We'll find you.

MARCOS
Think we're bluffing? Try us.

Josh wanders over.

JOSH
(still a bit dizzy)
Yeah. Just try us, bucko.

Blake contemplates his predicament for a moment.

We swiftly move across the park passing various PARKGOERS,

benches and light posts until we reach -

EXT. PARK BENCH - CITY PARK - NIGHT

In the distance, Carl and Sam see Marcos, Josh and Tyrone
confronting Blake about Wendy.

CARL
Look at the thugs harassing the young,
white couple. This country is going
to hell in a handbasket. I give up.

Carl and Sam get up off their bench and exit the park.

EXT. STREET - NIGHT

Blake shoves Wendy away.

Blake jumps into his car, drives off.

Wendy hugs her new friends.

WENDY
Thank you guys all so much.
(to Tyrone)
So sorry for swiping your bike.
(to Josh)
And I'm majorly sorry for hitting you.

Marcos gives Josh a huge bearhug and a kiss on the cheek.

MARCOS
It'll take more than that to keep my
man down. He's got a thick skull.

JOSH
And a Happy Anniversary to you too.

TYRONE
Oh, nice. Happy Anniversary, guys!

WENDY
Let me make it up to all of you.
Brunch. My treat.

An ambulance SIREN whirls in the background.

SUPER: CREDITS ROLL OVER CAFE SCENE

INT. CAFE - DAY

Wendy and Tyrone sit across from Marcos and Josh as they all
eat a delicious brunch with huge mimosas. Everyone laughs as
Tyrone tells a funny story.
