RE: TETFUND NATIONAL RESEARCH FUND (NRF) GRANTS FOR 2019:
CALL FOR CONCEPT NOTES
1. THE SUBMISSIONS
Further to our Call for Concept Notes to access the
TETFund 2019 Na onal Research Fund (NRF)
grants published on our website and several
na onal dailies in the month of July and August
2019, the Fund received about 3000 Concept
th
Notes by the last date for submission on 19
August, 2019.
2. THE SCREENING
The Concept Notes received were screened by the
TETFund Na onal Research Fund Screening and
Monitoring Commi ee (NRFS&MC) in accordance
with the criteria laid down in the guidelines for
accessing the Na onal Research Fund (NRF)
grants.
3. THE OUTCOME
The Fund wishes to inform all Researchers that
405 Concept Notes out of the total submission
have been short-listed to proceed to the next
stage involving the prepara on and submission of
Full Proposals towards the funding of the research
project presented in their Concept Notes. All the
Principal Inves gators of the accepted Concept
Notes and their Ins tu ons have been so
communicated.
4. INVITATION TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS
The Principal Inves gators of the 405 short-listed
Concept Notes are to submit their Full Proposals in
four (4) weeks beginning from 18th September,
2019.
The submi ed Full Proposals will be evaluated and
ranked by the NRFS&M Commi ee based on the
set criteria as presented in the TETFund Website
www.te und.gov.ng . Being a compe ve grant,
the final number of proposals to be awarded
grants will be dictated by the quantum of fund
already allocated by TETFund for the 2019 NRF
grants and the total budget of the selected
proposals, based on the ranking.
5. FEEDBACK
By this publica on, the Fund wishes to inform all
Researchers who submi ed Concept Notes but
have not been formally invited to submit full
proposals that their Concept Notes have not been
successful, It is per nent to note that this is the
2019 Exercise while the 2020 Exercise is planned
to roll out early next year, with opportunity for
our researchers to par cipate.
Consequent to the fore-going, the Fund would
like members of our research community to note
that it will not enter into any form of further
communica on with those who have not been
invited to proceed to the next stage of the
exercise.
6. APPRECIATION
We wish to use this medium to convey our
profound apprecia on to all those who showed
interest by par cipa ng keenly in the process of
compe ng for the TETFund 2019 NRF grants. We
also wish to re-assure the academic community
of our commitment to sustain the investment in
Research and Innova on for sustainable
development in the country through the Fund's
annual Interven ons in the Public Ter ary
Educa on sector in par cular and, by extension,
the en re educa on ecosystem.
