LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE

I. Objectives
At the end of this lesson, the learners are expected to:
a. Define natural resources;
b. Learn that materials important to humans are made of these natural
resources; and
c. Trace the formation of soil from rocks.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Protection and Conservation of Natural Resources
Time Allotment: 5 hours
References: SCIENCE 7 (Learner’s Manual page 285-303)
Instructional Materials: Drawing pens, short bond paper

III. Lesson Proper

A. Review
Ask the students about their previous lesson.
What they learn in the previous topic.
Ask the learners if they really understand the past lesson

B. Motivation
To begin the lesson, the teacher will ask the students what is the first
thing they think of when they hear each of these words: plant, water and
soil. Then your class if anyone knows what a natural resources is.
Encourage students to make an educated guess.

C. Activity
The teacher will divide the students into 10 groups. Each group will go
outside the classroom to get more ideas for this activity. The teacher will
ask the students to list what the Earth’s natural resources and also list the
things that they throw into the trash then the students will think about
which natural resources were used to make these things. For example
paper is made of trees.
D. Abstraction
The teacher will define what is Natural diversity. Give the examples of
natural diversity and why it is important to our lives.

E. Application
In their SCIENCE 7 book page 289-290, the students must finish their
activity on How are soils formed from rock. The students need drawing
pens for they have to draw or illustrate the process on how rocks are form.

IV. Assessment
On their activity notebook, the learners will answer the given quiz.

V. Assignment
Research about the Solar energy and the atmosphere
