LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
a. Identify the different seasons in the country with respect to its location in the globe;
b. Realize the effects of human activities to the changing season in the country; and
c. Present a picture about the different seasons in our country in front of their
classmates.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Seasons in the Philippines
Time Allotment: 5 hours
References: SCIENCE 7 (Learner’s Manual page 340-350)
Instructional Materials: Laptop, Tv, Printed dialogue, and Pictures

III. Lesson Proper

A. Review
Ask the students about their previous lesson.
What they learn in the previous topic.
Ask the learners if they really understand the past lesson

B. Motivation
The teacher will divide the class into four groups. Each group will have 1/4
Cartolina. They will search any familiar words from the box and write it on the provided
cartolina, and then it will be posted on the board. The more words found the more
points will be earned. In this activity, each group will be given 3 minutes to search for
words.

C. Activity
The teacher will divide the class into two groups, they will read a comic strip about
the conversation of Bob and Ana talking about the different seasons they had
experienced. Group 1 will read the lines of Bob and Group 2 will read the lines of Ana.

D. Analysis
The teacher will ask some question about the conversation they’ve read.
Afterwards, the teacher will discuss the following:
1. Different seasons in the Philippines
2. Causes of seasons in the Philippines
3. Rotation and revolution of the Earth around its orbit.

E. Abstraction
The teacher will ask some questions to let the students summarize the topic.
1. How many seasons are there in the Philippines?
2. What are the 2 seasons in the Philippines?
3. Why Philippines have only 2 seasons?

F. Application
The teacher will group the students into 2 groups and each group will have a picture
to discuss/brainstorm. Each group will select their representative to discuss the picture
in front of the class, they will discuss about what they have understand on the picture.

IV. Assessment
On their activity notebook, the learners will answer the given quiz.

V. Assignment
Read in advance about eclipses.
