LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE

I. Objectives
At the end of the session, the students are expected to:
a. Describe what is seasons and explain the movement of the Earth in relation to the
Sun that influence changes of seasons;
b. Appreciate the implications of seasons in daily life; and
c. Demonstrate how do seasons change.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Seasons
Time Allotment: 1 hour
References: SCIENCE 7 (Learner’s manual page 340-350)
Instructional Materials: Laptop, Tv, Felt-tip-pen, Pictures, Speaker, and Cartolina

III. Lesson Proper

A. Review
Ask the students about their previous lesson.
What they learn in the previous topic.
Ask the learners if they really understand the past lesson

B. Motivation
The teacher will divide the class into four groups. This game is entitled “Arrange and
Decode Me”. So, each group will have a 1/4 cartolina and all they have to do is to
identify the word from the given codes then arrange the puzzle.

CODES:

X1L3L2L3C4C5 - Autumn
L5X9C5L2X5C9 - Winter
L1C7C9X9C5X7 - Spring
C. Activity
The teacher will now give another activity. With the same group, the students must
arrange the given pictures and identify if it is Summer, Spring, Winter or Autumn.

D. Analysis
The teacher will now discuss about the four seasons. The movement of the Earth
around the sun. The two hemisphere of the Earth. The implications of seasons in daily
life. Lastly, how do seasons change.

E. Abstraction
As a summary, the teacher prepared a video presentation entitled The season song.
After that the teacher will ask the following questions:

1. What are the four seasons that we have discussed and presented in the video?
2. What are the effects of the tilt around the sun?

F. Application
At this moment, the teacher will show a picture of the Earth revolves around the
sun. All they have to do is to name the season from the given diagram.

IV. Assessment
On their activity notebook, the learners will answer the given quiz.
V. Assignment
Study in advance about the seasons in the Philippines.
