At the end of the lesson, the students are able to:
a. identify the different types of habitat of the animals; and
b. infer that body structure help animals adapt and survive in their particular
habitat.
c. differentiate the Vertebrates and Invertebrates animals

b. References: Cyber Science. Rev Work test in Science and Technology
p.139
c. Materials: Visual aids, pictures, manila paper and tape

Good morning children!


Good morning, Teacher!

Please all stand for our opening prayer.


(The pupils stand up for the
opening prayer)
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and

love commits me here. Ever this day, be at my

For sure you no longer remember the last


lesson that we discussed last week in this
subject, but what i remember is that it was
about taking good care of our internal organs.

Question: What body structure that the giraffes


use enable them to live in grasslands?
Their long necks
How about the birds that make theme
fly and adapted to live on trees?

Its feathers, wings, sharp claws


How about the shark?
Their gills and fins

Absolutely!!
All animals have their different body structures
That helps them to survive in their habitats.

D. Discussion

(The teacher will post on the whiteboard, a


Manila paper with Animalia kingdom.

In this morning, we will focus on the Animalia


kingdom.

Scientist before simply divided the animal


kingdom into two groups.
The vertebrates and invertebrates.

I would like to ask, what do you know about


Vertebrates and Invertebrates?
Vertebrates are the animals have
backbones while invertebrates
have no backbones.
Very good!

Now please come forward and get a piece of


paper, this piece of paper are different kinds
of animals. Come to think of it, do they have
backbones or they don’t have?
(Each pupil come forward and
paste it on the manila paper
where it belongs.)
(The teacher will process the answer afterwards)

Now let’s learn more about vertebrates and


invertebrates. Are your ready to listen?

Yes teacher!
(The teacher will show picture of animals
and explain further about vertebrates and
invertebrates.

So now let’s proceed to their habitats or their


natural home.

Animals do live on land right? Where else


do they live?
Yes, in water, and trees too
correct!!

Those animals who lived on land, their habitat


Is called Terrestrial, those animal who live on
water are called Aquatic and those animals who
live on trees their habitat are called Arboreal.

(The teacher will ask each pupil to get one


picture of an animal (from the vertebrates and
invertebrates table)then they will transfer it in
the new manila paper according to the habitats
where it belongs)
( The pupils will go to the board
and paste it on the manila paper
where those animals belong)
(The teacher will process the answer afterwards)

Are their animals who can both live on water and


land? What are those?
Yes, frogs, turtles and
salamander,
That’s right!

What do we call those animals who can live both


land and water?
Amphibians
Yes those animal that can live both land and water
are called amphibians.
