INFORMATION

Receipt of the instrument

Check that the type of the instrument (indicated on the case label) corresponds to your order.
Keep the packaging as long as the instrument is not finally mounted.

Installation and mounting

The instrument can be connected to dangerous electrical voltages.

It needs to be mounted, connected and implemented by a qualified technician, trained to the safety instructions, who will have read this
manual.
This product is only part of a system which includes other elements (such as the sensor, signalings, controls etc...)
After installing the system, a complete test of good operation must be performed by the person who has designed the installation.

Maintenance

No maintenance necessary, in case of error the instrument will be placed in safety mode.
Replace the instrument by an identical one and return this one for repair.

Dismounting of the instrument

Disconnect the instrument, take care to set the measure chain in safety status before.

This µconsole for clipping on the front face allows visualising the measures or occa-
sional modifications of the programming via a 4-key keyboard. It also allows teleloa-
ding programming files to other products of the ARDETEM range.
The programming menus and the functions which can be reached from the console
are detailed in the following pages.

Its graphical rear-lit LCD allows visualising 4 types of information:

- the value of the measure
- the displayed measure unit
- the value of the analog output or the product name (TAG)
- the status of the relay outputs and the digital data link RS485

This µconsole also allows displaying this information either vertically or horizontally,
according to the sense in which the converter is mounted.

The unit of the displayed physical magnitude is recorded in the converter for
display on the PC software in association with the physical measure on the set-
ting parameters: setpoints, hysteresis, etc...
Example 1: For a 4/20 mA signal from a level sensor on a tank, the following
Exit from the programming with or without saving programming is displayed:

4 mA from the sensor, display = 000.0 m3*
YES NO configuration 12 mA from the sensor, display = 150.0 m3
20 mA from the sensor, display = 300.0 m3

The transmitter can be configured in mode indicator, without leaving the µconsole
permanently connected (or even having a µconsole).
In the case of MODE INDICATOR (with a physical scale programme
by SCALE, YES), the parameters down and full display scale, cut-off and ordinates
revert to the exit and (if input linearised in segments) are to be considered in the magnitude of the pro-
measure save the grammed physical scale. The setpoints, hysteresis, dOdl and F.ldl for the analog
display configura- output can be programmed either as input magnitude, or as displayed magnitude
tion (according to PARA).
For example 1, with PARA «DISP» validated, a setpoint on relay 1 (SPI.I) with
a value of 30.0 corresponds to a setpoint of 30.0 m3. If the display overstepps
30.0m3 (if the input overstepps 5.60 mA) the status of relay 1 will change.
Note : If you do not want to overload the programming too much with a super-

After SAVE, YES the µconsole will show WAIT during the converer re-initialisation
phase. In the case of MODE TRANSMITTER (SCALE NO) the parameters
setpoints, hysteresis, cut-off and ordinates (if input linearised in segments) are to
be considered in the physical magnitude of the programmed input type (V, mA, Ω
etc...).
In example 1, for the status of relay 1 to trip if the level overstepps 30.0m3,
enter for setpoint 1 a value of SP1.1 = 5.60 for 5.60mA. p16

Inversion
The CRC16 calculation applies to all bytes in the sequence (except CRC16).
Note 4:
byte 3 byte 4 byte 1 byte 2 Caution! In the CRC 16, the 1st sent byte is the LSB.
Plus 1 Example: Sequence 1-3-0-75-0-2 CRC16 = 180-29 (the values are p36
decimal).
