The TRUFLO TSP of Single-Stage Process pumps are one of the toughest built horizontal process pumps in the
industry designed to meet API 610 10th edition (OH2) specifications. Engineered and built for reliable, safe performance,
they also provide optimal emissions containment. The TSP Series represents the most comprehensive range of hydraulic
coverage available to the industry, allowing precise selection for best operating efficiency. It is the workhorse of the
processing industry, boasting unequaled versatility, reliability and safety.

The TRUFLO TSP Series pumps are designed to withstand the high pressures and temperatures often found in the oil
& gas and hydrocarbon industries. One of the most versatile pumps we offer, this powerhouse can deliver unrivaled
performance in dozens of applications, such as, refining & pipeline, power generation, mining, oil & gas production and
refining, mill sump service, manhole pumpage systems, unloading service, dikes and containment areas and countless
more.

TRUFLO's TSP Series pump feature a centerline supported pump casing that can withstand nozzle loads beyond API
610 requirements and minimizes shaft misalignment, extending rotor, bearing and seal life. The suction nozzle guide
vane reduces inlet vortexing and ensures uniform flow into the impeller to achieve a reliable NPSH margin. The back
pullout design simplifies maintenance and the precision cast impeller is dynamically balanced to limit vibration and assure
smooth operation over a wide flow range.

Multiplier Factors
Example for Determining Pressure Rating Limits:
Selection Considerations Multiplier
Factor Seal: 3"/75mm Diameter Type 48LP
Product: Lube Oil
Sealed Fluid Below 175˚F/80˚C x 1.00
Temperature: 180˚F/82˚C
Temperature Above 175˚F to 250˚F/80˚C to 125˚C x 0.90 Speed: 3600 rpm
Above 250˚F to 350˚F/125˚C to 180˚C x 0.80
Using the Type 48LP Pressure Ratings Limit graph, the
Above 350˚F/180˚C x 0.65 pressure limit is 645 psi(g)/44.5 bar(g). From the
Multiplier Factors chart, apply the appropriate value, in
Materials Tungsten Carbide vs. Silicon Carbide x 0.50 this case 0.90. For this service condition, the maximum
operating pressure is:
645 psi(g) x 0.90 = 580.5 psi(g)/40 bar(g)
Notes:
1. The above temperature derating factors apply to seals with carbon
primary rings only, not hard face vs. hard face combinations.
2. The temperatures noted are product temperatures for single seals or
the expected average temperature of the product and buffer/barrier
fluid for dual seals.

L-Shaped Mating Ring Internal Pressure Limits

The L-shaped mating ring used for dual seal arrangements is designed to be hydraulically balanced when used with
the proper seal size. The pressure limit of the mating ring should be considered along with the seal head pressure limit
when selecting dual seal arrangements.
The pressure limit with OD pressure is 830 psi(g)/57.2 bar(g) for Silicon Carbide. This chart shows the ID pressure
limit for the Silicon Carbide mating ring.

Selection Procedure
1. Select appropriate service factor (SF) from table Example:
2. Calculate the coupling rating from: 150 HP electric motor to centrifugal pump at 3600 rpm
R = HP x 100 x SF
R = 150 x 100 x 1.0
N
3600
Where:
HP = driver rated power (horsepower) R = 4.17 HP per 100 rpm
N = speed (rev./min)
Selection: TSC – 0033
3. Select a coupling with the same or higher rating Standard hub bore up to 1.875”
4. Check the hub bore capacity is suitable Large hub bore up to 2.75”
5. Check peak torque capability is suitable for application Peak torque capability: 6920 lb. in.
6. Check speed capability
7. Check whether additional dynamic balancing is required Additional dynamic balancing should not be required.
8. Specify Distance Between Shaft Ends (DBSE)

Alternative Coupling Designs

TSE Series
The Metastream® TSE range of membrane couplings has been
specifically designed to provide a solution for close coupled machinery.
The key benefit of this coupling is the ability to replace membranes
without the need to move either of the connected machines.

ZMH Series
Metastream® ZMH Series Couplings is a non-lubricated, non-wearing,
flexible coupling which has been designed to connect remote machines
in the humid atmosphere of cooling towers. Incorporating a radial spoke,
stainless steel, flexible membrane design, this design gives the most
reliable and safe solution available, and has the added advantage of
allowing the machines to disconnect if severe torsional overload occurs.

H Series
Metastream® H-FE couplings feature a factory assembled transmission
unit, providing high torque capacity with low weight. The hub bores
possible with the design make this range particularly suitable for use on
electric motor or generator drive applicartions, where larger shaft sizes
are generally in use.
