MMS SEMESTER-IV
PROJECT ON FUNCTIONAL SPECIALISATION,
GENERAL MANAGEMENT & SOCIAL RELEVANCE
MMS students are required to prepare Project Report on Functional Specialization, General
Management and Social Relevance as per the guidelines of University of Mumbai for 100
marks each.
(b) The project work should start with preparation of the Project Synopsis (format mentioned
below). The approved synopsis submission to respective class coordinator has to take place
on or before Saturday, 8th February, 2020 for all three categories of the Projects.
Once the synopsis is approved by the Project Guide the students can proceed with the
project. Project Guide will have to be continuously updated about the progress made by
the student in the project. If student failed to adhere given deadline of synopsis submission
he/she will lose 5 marks from the evaluation.
(c) The respective Project Guide will go through the soft copy and suggest if any further
changes are required. The student has to make the relevant changes and get the changes
re-approved from the Project Guide.
(d) Upon approval by the Project Guide for the draft copy the student can proceed for the black-
binded copy with golden embossing.
(e) The evaluation of the project work out of 100 marks has been divided into two major
components of 60 marks (Guide’s Evaluation) and 40 marks (Panel Viva), where 60
marks evaluation will be done by the project guide and 40 marks evaluation will be done
by the viva panelists. The marks allotted for evaluation are defined as follows. The
evaluation criteria for 60 marks and 40 marks is defined in Mumbai University Guidelines.
(f) In each of the cases the panelists/guides reserve the right to give marks whatever they feel
is deserved by the student. The projects and vivas rejected by the panelists/guides will have
to go through REDO/REVIVA process again.
Cases of students who are not formally dressed for the viva, who have not done
genuine work, who carry a casual attitude, who have not adhered to deadlines and
prescribed format, do not have any knowledge about the topic etc.

(g) The best project made by the students in their respective categories will be chosen for ‘Best
Project Award.’
