Abstract

This study aimed to determine the essence of friendship in adolescent life at


Cabalantian National high school. More specifically, researchers investigate the kinds of
friends each of them has, which is bounded by the importance, advantages,
disadvantages and the impact. Whereas students, family, teachers, administrator, and
community play a significant role in a students, extant literature review about this study is
being used. This study was evaluated with the use of questionnaires which were given to
the random students, consisted of 85 participants from Grade 11 senior high school
students in Cabalantian National High School. Kinds of friends, importance, advantages,
disadvantages and impact were measured using frequency (fx) percentage (%) in this
study. The results support the statement of the problem. Specifically, the results of the
study revealed that everyone has his/her own friends, it is based on his/her choice and
one of it can give a meaning in life and play a big significant role. However, negative
aspect also appears to friendship unintentionally aside from its positive big impact to self.
Furthermore, with the help of others with their point of views and opinions they can help
adolescent with their decisions which is found among individual. Altogether, these results
were consistent and provide evidences about the essence of friendship to the students.
