 INTRODUCTION
Monte Carlo Fashions Ltd was launched in 1984 by Oswal Woolen
Mills Ltd, the flagship company of Nahar group. The launch was a
significant step in the evolution of branded garment industry in India.
Since then, it has been catering to the ever-growing demands of the
Clothing and Fashion industry.

Monte Carlo has pushed the envelope on high street fashion. The
products offered under brand Monte Carlo, apart from Woolen
knitted garments, include T-Shirts, Shirts, Linen Shirts, Denim,
Trousers, Dresses, Shorts, Tunics, Sportswear & much more for
men, women and tweens (8-14 years age group).
The main objective of the Company is to stand up to the buyers'
expectations with consistent quality backed with R&D divisions
equipped with latest technology, a team of highly qualified
technocrats and adhering to timely schedules.

The brand has gained the ISO 9001: 2000 certifications and has
been felicitated by the International Wool Secretariat with the
prestigious Best Exhibited Product award. It has also emerged as
the No. 1 brand in the men's wear category in a survey conducted in
the summer of 2009 by Images-ORG-MARG. In 2014, Monte Carlo
was honored as one of ASIA'S BEST MARKETING BRANDS by
World Consulting & Research Corporation (WCRC).

The Company's products reach the end user through diffe rent
channels i.e. through Exclusive Brand Outlets, Multi Brand Outlets.
Currently Monte Carlo is available through more than 200 Exclusive
Brand Outlets & over 1300 Multi Brand Outlets.
 HISTORY
Monte Carlo’s history in Ludhiana started with Oswal Woolen Mills, which
was set up post-Independence in 1949. The mill started bringing the wool
industry stakeholders together to form a more organized approach of
manufacturing and selling. It eventually became one of the largest
producers of woolen yarns in India. In 1984, Monte Carlo was launched as a
brand under Oswal Woolen Mills, and held the prestigious title of being one
of the first organized fashion apparel brands in India.
Being the market leader and enjoying wide spread recognition in the
woolen segment, the flagship Company, OWM in order to make
Monte Carlo an all-season brand and to capitalize on the brand
name, entered into cotton segments.

Shri Jawahar Lal Oswal, Chairman and Managing Director of the

company, has the view of evolving Monte Carlo showrooms into one
shop destination offering contemporary clothing with world -class
quality at affordable prices. His versatile and dynamic leadership has
helped the brand flourish over the years and makes it the first crush
of fashion-conscious people of all ages and tastes in India.

Keeping the consistent growth patterns of the brand and its growing
awareness and popularity, we are confident that the brand Monte
Carlo will be a leading fashion and life style brand internationally in
the coming years.

Growing from strength to strength over the years, the business brought in
Rishabh Oswal in 2015 to manage the brand. Currently just 27 years old,
Rishabh is a third generation Oswal entrepreneur, and has launched his
own sportswear brand named ‘Rock It’.

EXCLUSIVE BRAND OUTLETS- Exclusive Brand Outlets or EBO’s

have traditionally been the building blocks for brands. EBO’s offer the
brand potential for complete display of the offering and also provide
specific services related to the brand. The brand value proposition is
clearly translated and experienced by consumers within the EBO
format. Branded stores usually find presence in either malls or on the
high streets, largely experience led prominent places. EBO’s have
been used for communicating the brand’s image and offerings.

MULTI BRAND OUTLETS- Multi Brand Outlets are a type of retail

format in which a store or a portal or any other form of outlet sells
related or unrelated products of more than one brand. For example,
Tesco or Walmart (or other department store type retailers), which
stock and sell goods from various different brands in their stores.

LARGE FORMAT STORES- Large Format Stores are also known as

Super Stores, Mega Stores or Big Box stores which are physically
large establishments that provide a greater choice to the consumers
under one roof. Walmart, Ikea, Reliance Retail and Shopper’s Stop are
some examples of Large Format Stores. These stores achieve
economies of scale by focusing on large sales volume. As the volume
is high, the profit margin for each product can be lowered, which
results in very competitively priced goods.
E-COMMERCE - In an expansion mode, the company is keeping
pace with changing trends in the apparel business with a strong e-
commerce presence through its own portal as well as tie up’s with
other e-commerce portals such as: -
