r o The Georgetown University Disability Studies Minor was

e p established in 2017 after a group of faculty and motivated

t h students saw a need for a formal program to support

t
academic and community-based work in the disability

ou studies field. The minor is made up of six courses:

Ab
Introduction to Disability Studies, three Disability Studies
Core courses taught across the Anthropology, English,
Philosophy, Religion, Women’s and Gender Studies,
and Education departments, and two electives culled from a wide range
of disciplines in the College, The School of Nursing
and Health Studies, and the School of Foreign Service.
As the only academic program of its
kind in Washington, D.C., the Disability Studies Minor
fosters a unique and dynamic learning community
through a series of workshops and lectures led by premier scholars in the field.
