PROGRAM DESIGN
PROJECT TITLE : PROJECT MO INVESTIGATE MO (PMIM)

PROBLEM STATEMENT: Students, particularly the regular classes students, are not interested to
make an investigatory project.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE: This program aimed to help students improve their reading and
comprehension skills through interesting Science Concepts in interesting
and attractive Science Big Books.

ROOT CAUSE : The students had difficulties in making Science Investigatory Projects
because of their difficulty also in reading and comprehension. No matter
how the Science Teachers encourage them to make an investigatory
project, students are hindered in doing so because of their problem in
reading and comprehension.

DURATION: June, 2019 – March 2020

TARGET GROUPS: Grade 7 Level students

EXPECTED OUTCOMES: 1. Students can read and comprehend science concepts.


2. Students can make simple investigatory project.
3. Students will improve their proficiency level in Science.
4. Students will familiarize common Science Terms.
INTERVENTION:

A. Material: Big Books


Science Booklets
Science Magazines

B. Procedure:
1. The Science Teacher in every section of Grade 7 will identify the
students that need remediation from the result of PHIL-IRI taken at
the beginning of the school year.
2. The Science Teacher and the identified students will agree for a sche-
dule of remedial sessions at the Science Laboratory every after classes
in the afternoon.
3. The Actual Process:
a. Let students read science concepts in different material.
b. If the student/s cannot read, the teacher will guide the student/s
in reading the science concept.
c. To check the comprehension of students, the Science Teacher will
ask some questions related to the science concept being read.
