Phobias are very strong fears which may start in childhood. Usually there has been an
early experience which started the fear. A person may forget the experience which started the
fear, but the fear remains. For example, a person who is afraid of closed rooms has
claustrophobia. Perhaps that person had parents who once locked him in a closet as a child.
As an adult, he has forgotten the experience in the closet, but he fears locked rooms.
A person who is afraid of insects has a kind of zoophobia. People who are afraid of
snakes, spiders, and mice have zoophobia too. People who are afraid of germs have micro
phobia. They wash their hands many times a day, and they refuse to be near people who are
sick. Now that we understand disease better, many people are micro phobic – afraid of germs.

A caption, also known as a cutline, is a text that appears below an image. Most captions draw
attention to something in the image that is not obvious, such as its relevance to the text. Caption can
consist of a few word of description, or several sentences. Along with the title, lead and section
headings, captions are the most commonly read words in an article, so they should be succinct and
informative .
There are several criteria for a good caption. A good caption clearly identifies the subject of

Most people know that bullying is wrong. Calling someone names has absolutely no beneficial
purpose. Moreover, hitting someone makes a bully feel good in the moment while doing permanent
damage to the person being victimized. With the Internet, people now have even more opportunities
to bully through cyber bullying. This includes sending crude pictures, posting fake web pages, or
tweeting slanderous messages. Cyber bullying has subsequently led to a rise in a completely new kind
of bullying.
One of the effects of bullying is that it can change the victim’s personality. It can cause people who
are normally confident and happy to become self-conscious, shy, and unsure. Additionally, victims of
bullying may also become sad or depressed. Their confidence might completely disappear, keeping
them from trying new things or trusting people. Once a person has been bullied, they may hesitate to
participate in situations where he or she might be ridiculed, such as in public speaking or in sports. A
bullying victim might even begin to possess previously absent anxious behaviour.
Despite all the negative effects of bullying, there are even far more serious consequences. People who
have been bullied sometimes become so upset, scared, or depressed that they see no worth in
themselves and no way out of their torment. There have been countless reports over the past few years
of students committing suicide because they were bullied. Meanwhile, there are times when victims
see no recourse but to seek revenge by serious acts of violence against the bully and instigators. As a
result of bullying, people can lose their ability to love and trust, denying them the chance to
experience a quality relationship later in their life. They might find themselves as a submissive partner
or they may want to be completely alone. Compounding all of these problems, victims often develop
eating disorders, begin to self-injure, or require extensive counselling. Social bullying can also leave
people without a supportive group of friends that they can lean on and spend time with.
Another unfortunate consequence of this is that bullying is often cyclical. People who have been
bullied can, in an attempt to gain their power and self-esteem back, become bullies themselves. In
relation to this, bullies who are not confronted or stopped may find themselves in future positions
where they can bully as adults. This is where manipulative bosses and child abusers come from.
Aside from its long-term effects, some consequences of bullying can be seen and felt immediately.
When one child calls another child names, the victim might cry and a bruise might appear after a
punch to the arm. However, some effects of bullying are not always obvious to the naked eye. The
results of bullying might grow and appear over time, damaging a person in profound ways for the
long term. There are so many effects of bullying that they are impossible to count or predict. This is
why it is so important to stop bullying.
29. From the text we know that manipulative bosses and child abusers come from… .
A. People who lost the ability to love and trust
B. People who have been bullied and become bullies
C. People without supportive group of friends
D. People who find themselves as submissive partner
E. People who are normally confident and happy
Does your dog know how to sit on cue? Teaching the “sit” command to your dog is usually
quite simple, as dogs tend to sit naturally. Sit is an important basic command that every dog
should know.
Plan to set aside 5-10 minutes a few times a week to work on training sit. Before you begin,
make sure you have delicious training treats to offer your dog. These treats should be soft,
small, and highly appealing to your dog.
1. Next, add the cue word: Say your dog’s name followed by the word “sit,” spoken
clearly while holding the treat in the position as before.
2. Immediately give your dog the treat followed by petting and praising.
3. Move the treat back towards your dog’s ears, keeping it close to the head. Your dog’s
nose might turn up to follow the treat at first, but most dogs will sit when the treat
gets to a certain point.
4. Get your dog’s attention and show her that you have a treat in your hand.
5. Hold the treat just above your dog’s nose (not too high or she might jump).
6. As soon as your dog’s rear lands on the ground, say “yes!” or “good dog” in an upbeat
tone.
7. Repeat 1-5 times until your dog sits at the sight of the treat above of her nose.
8. Repeat several times, using the word “sit” each time and gradually phasing out the
hand motion (keep using the treat, just phase out the motion).
