Text 3 For Questions Number 6 to 7 :

The most memorable birthday celebration for me was when I had it last year. I had a trip with my
friends to Colorado for three days.

Early in the morning on the second day, I was woken up by all my friends wishing me 'Happy
Birthday', I was so happy that my eyes filled with tears. After my friends and I had breakfast, we went
to visit my favourite college, the University of Denver. I ever dreamed to study at this university.
Visiting it on my birthday was a blast. Then we went to an aquarium in Sea World which we could
feed some fishes. From that place we went shopping at a mall near the Sea World. We spent so much
time in the mall that we felt hungry. We found a nice restaurant and enjoyed the meal.

After shopping, we went back to the hotel. I was surprised when one of my friends brought a cute
cheesecake as a gift ordered from the hotel. During the night we all stayed in one room having fun by
playing scrabble. Suddenly one of my friends put a traditional necklace around my neck. It was a very
pleasant surprise.

The next day we had to be back home. I was a little sad because I was going to miss the interesting
places and all my friends. Yet, I was excited to see my family who wanted to celebrate my birthday.
My parents also bought a nice cheesecake for me. Overall, my birthday last year was the most
memorable one that I never forgot.

Igloos or snow houses are shelters constructed from blocks of snow, generally in the form of dome.
Althought Igloos are usuallu associated with all Inuit. They were predominantly constructed by people ofCanada’s Central
Arctic and Greenland’s Thule area. Inuit people tended to use snow to insulate their houses. The temperature may range
from -7 degree Celcius to 16 degree Celcius when warmed by body heat alone.

There were three traditional types of igloos. The smallest one was constructed as a temporary shelter,
usually used for one or two nights. These were built and used during hunting trips, often on open sea ice. Next in size was
the semi permanent, intermediate-sized for family dwelling. This is a single room dwelling that housed one or two families.
The largest of the igloos is normally built in groups of two. This might have had up to five rooms and housed up to 20
people. A large igloo might have been constructed from several igloos attached by tunnels, giving common access to the
outside. These were used to hold community feasts and traditional dances.

Technology brings problems as well as benefits to humankind. Since Henry Ford began
mass production in automobiles in 1908, automobiles have provided us with a cheap and convenient
means of transportation. However, they also brought us traffic jams and air pollution.

The technological development that also change our lives as much as the automobiles is the
personal computer. Since the 1980s, personal computers have become common in homes, schools,
and businesses. However like the automobiles unexpected problems, so have personal computers.

To begin with, communication via computer entails several problems. Although we can
easily send a message to hundreds of people instantly, we also receive hundreds of messages, both
wanted and unwanted, in a few minutes. It took several hours to read them all. The lack of censorship
in cyberspace is another problem that no one has solved yet. For instance, a computer-literate child
can receive pornographic photos and listen to chat-room conversations about sex.

In addition, computers have also caused problems in business. They potentially create
opportunities for computerized crime. Computer criminals use their skills to obtain secret business
information and steal money. Moreover, computers entails depersonalized business. People are no
longer customers: they are account numbers. Face-to-face business transactions are no longer
necessary. You can buy almost anything you need by computer, phone, or fax. It may be possible
someday to see a company who have never conducted physical interaction.

Tsunami

Tsunami occurs when major fault under the ocean floor slips suddenly . The displaced rock pushes water above it
like a giant paddle, producing powerful water waves at the ocean surface. The ocean waves spread out from the vicinity of
the earthquake source and move across the ocean until they reach the coastline, where their height increases as they reach
the continental shelf, the part of the earth crust that slopes, or rises, from the ocean floor up to the land.

A tsunami washes a shore with often disastrous effects such as severe flooding, loss of lives due to drowning and
damage to property.

A tsunami is a very large sea wave that is generated by a disturbance along the ocean floor. This disturbance can be
an earthquake, a landslide, or a volcanic eruption. A tsunami is undetectable far out in the ocean, but once it reaches shallow
water, this fast traveling wave grows very large.

Besides, the living conditions of the circus animals are poor. They live in a cramped condition most of the

Ant-eaters are perhaps the most curious-looking animals. Their long head and snout look like
tubes and they have no teeth at all. Their front legs are very strong and armed with heavy curved claws
with which they break open nests of ants and termites. The termites and ants rush out which then the
ant-eaters use their long tongues to lick them up at great speed.

True ant-eaters are found in swamps and forests of central and south America. Scaly ant-
eaters or pangolins are found in Africa and tropical Asia.

animals. One of them is ant-bear, which lives on the plains of south and central Africa. It has long,
erect ears but short blunt claws, and a hairless tail which is yellow and brown in color. Unlike true ant-
eaters, it has small teeth.

Platypus has a flat tail and webbed feet. Its body length is 30 t0 45 cm and covered with a thick and wooly layer of
fur. Its bill is detecting prey and stirring up mud. Platypus’ eyes and head are small. It has no ears but has ability to sense
sound and light.

The male platypus has a hollow claw or spur on each hind leg. The spurs are connected with poison glands. The
platypus leg scratches and poisons its enemies with the spurs.

Platypus lives in a streams, rivers and lakes. Female platypus usually digs burrows an the streams of river banks.
The burrows are blocked with soil to protect it from intruders and flooding. On the other hand, male platypus does not need
any burrow to stay.

lightly ?
On the one hand, it’s not fair to punish people the first time they make a mistake. The police should talk sternly to
them and give them a warning.

On the other hand, every day shops lose thousands of dollars worth of valuable items. This effect us all because
prices increase and we have to pay extra. So shop owners should come down heavy the first time to see an example.

In our opinion, first offenders should be taught a lesson but the punishment might depend on questions such as how
old they are, why they stole the goods and so on.

Drug users are actually people who need help. Rehabilition is one of the main things they should get. Instead of
punishing drug users in prisons, the government should provide rehabilition for them.

Most users are actually victims of persuasive peddlers and they suffer from consuming the drugs. Therefore, by
rehabilitating them, we are actually helping them out from traps, which they might accidently step on.

If we only arrest drug users and send them to jail, this doesn’t solve the problem as drug users will still be addicted
unless proper rehabilitation is imposed to them. Providing rehabilitation programmes for drug users and forcing them to
participate in the programmes is better than only arresting them and doing nothing to their illness. Only drug dealers,
traffickers and wholesalers should be imprisoned

At the beginning of his career he has made enormous contribution in the field of Game Theory, which was a
revolution in this mathematical area and almost brought international fame to the author. The movie was filmed
in 2001 by Ron Howard and today it is called modern classic : a true drama, making you tyhink and evoking
emotions.

Such movies, telling us about the life of a famous person, are always difficult to assess, because any such
creations somehow pretend to be biographical ones. But in fact they are just a glance of one particular producer
on the life of another individual. Of course, much depends on the actor who will perform the role of the
protagonist and after watching A Beautiful Mind I will agree with this once again.
