ABSTRACT
Sandi, Bariq Kurnia 2019 The Redesign of Pandaan - Malang Toll Road Area
Pakis - Madyopuro STA 30+625 – STA 38+488. Thesis. Construction
Engineering Management Civil Engineering Department Politeknik Negeri

Advisors : (1) ….. (2) …….

38.488-km long Pandaan - Malang toll road was made to decrease the
level of traffic congestion between Pasuruan and Malang Districts. This thesis
aims as an alternative to the new alignment because in the initial planning phase
the temple is found, so the previous phase must be moved to redesign
geometrically, to determine the depth of rigid pavement, to determine the method
of implementation, and to estimate costs

The required data were of topographic map, daily traffic average (LHR),
California Bearing Ratio (CBR) result from the builder, and 2019 analysis of
Work Unit Price (AHSP) of east Java Province. Bina Marga Spesifikasi Teknis
Jalan Bebas Hambatan dan Jalan Tol. No.007/BM/2009 “Geometrik Jalan Bebas
Hambatan Untuk Jalan Tol” was the reference for geometric redesign, and Pd T-
14-2003 “Perencanaan Perkerasan Jalan Beton Semen” was for the rigid
pavement.

The redesign resulted in 5 curves of full Circle with 2,500-m radius long;
24-cm deep rigid pavement compared to 30-cm deep with common method
starting from land preparation to concrete finishing; at IDR. 559,254,936,600.

Key words: geometric, rigid pavement, toll road

CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION
1.1 The Background
construction of Pandaan - Malang Toll Road with a total length of 38,488 km
there is a problem with the discovery of an ancient temple so it must change the
toll road alignment so that it can continue the construction process without
damaging the condition of the temple.
1.2 Formulation Of The Problem
In accordance with the description of the background above, it can be
formulated a problem that you want examined in relation to the process of
achieving goals, namely:
1. How to re-design the geometry on the Pandaan - Malang Toll Road Sta. 30 +
625 - Sta. 38 + 488?
2. What is the thickness of the rigid pavement that has been re-planned on the
Pandaan - Malang Toll Road Sta. 30 + 625 - Sta. 38 + 488?
3. How is the method of implementing rigid pavement on Pandaan - Malang
Toll Road Sta. 30 + 625 - Sta. 38 + 488?
4. What is the budget for the rigid pavement work on Pandaan - Malang Toll
Road Sta. 30 + 625 - Sta. 38 + 488?
1.3 Limitation of Problems
1. Not discussing the improvement of the subgrade that is on the toll road
section studied.
2. Not discussing Interchange planning for the toll road sections studied.
3. Not discussing the bridge planning in the toll road section being studied.
4. Not discussing drainage planning for the toll road sections being studied.
1.4 Purpose
In accordance with the description of the above problem formulation, the
objectives for this study can be formulated, namely:
1. Re-design the geometry on the Pandaan - Malang Toll Road Sta. 30 + 625 -
Sta. 38 + 488.
2. Re-design the rigid pavement thickness on Pandaan - Malang Toll Road Sta.
30 + 625 - Sta. 38 + 488.

3. Re-planning the method of implementing rigid pavement on Pandaan -
Malang Toll Road Sta. 30 + 625 - Sta. 38 + 488.
4. Re-planning the budget for rigid pavement works on Pandaan - Malang Toll
Road Sta. 30 + 625 - Sta. 38 + 488.
1.5 The Benefits
The expected benefits of the study were to re-design the geometry on the
Pandaan - Malang Toll Road Sta. 30 + 625 - Sta. 38 + 488 these are:
1. For academics as a reference material and scientific development relating to
geometrical planning, pavement thickness, methods of carrying out work and
preparing a budget for the Pandaan - Malang toll road.
2. For the construction industry as input and alternative design to the relevant
executor regarding geometry planning, pavement thickness, methods of
carrying out work and preparing a budget for the Pandaan - Malang toll road.

CHAPTER III METHODOLOGY
3.1 Study location
This study will make the main road at Sta. 30 + 625 to Sta. 38 + 488 which
are included in the sections of Pakis to Madyopuro section 4 and section 5 on the
construction of the Pandaan - Malang Toll Road.

3.2 Data Collection Methods

1. Toll Road Technical Data from PT.PP,tbk. in the Pandaan-Malang toll road
project.
2. Topographic Map from google earth
3. Average Daily Traffic Data (LHR) obtained from PT.PP, because the
Pandaan - Malang Toll Road is a new road, the data and traffic volume is
taken on the Pandaan - Malang road section.
4. CBR obtained from several points every 200 m in the study area
