Holiday in Bali
On a campus called Pelita Harapan University there is a friendship group consisting of
Irene, Sarah, Laura and Elang. Irene, Sarah and Laura come from conglomerate families, while
Elang is a child from a modest family who received a scholarship because of his intelligence.
One day, Sarah saw information on social media that later this year during their semester
break there was the biggest music concert in Southeast Asia to be held at Garuda Wisnu Kencana,
Bali. Sarah proposed meeting to discuss this semester's vacation.
4 o'clock in the afternoon at Mall of Indonesia…
Sarah : “Hey guys. I see a good event to fill our vacation.”
Laura : “What is that?”
Sarah : “There are a largest music festival in South East Asian who will be held in GWK.”
Irene : “I want to see!!” (Sarah then shows the information)
Laura : “This is very interesting. We have to join the event!”
Irene : “What if we invite Elang? and celebrate his birthday.”
Sarah and Laura : “That’s sounds good.”
Two days later, they met after class. They then talked about the planned semester break.
Elang : “What’s going on?”
Laura : “Yesterday Sarah invited us to vacation in Bali. Irene and I planned to participate.
You must join, Lang!”
 Elang : “But, I don't have money to go there.”
Irene : “Its okey, we will all bear your costs there.”
Sarah : “Yes, it is true. You just bring your stuff and enjoy it.”
Elang : “Is that really okay? I feel troublesome to you guys.”
Irene : “No, its okey. We must happy together.”
The day came when they would leave for Bali to fill this semester's holiday. Laura, Irene
and Elang were at the airport waiting for Sarah who was on their way, they were chatting and very
excited to get to Bali. this time they prepare really - what they will bring for a vacation there and
all the equipment when watching concert music. not long after that, Irene arrived and they went
straight to the departure area.
During the trip, Irene, Sarah, Laura and Elang never stopped chatting. They can't wait to
get to Bali. The two-hour flight was very short.
Laura : “Wah…I can't wait to get to Bali”
Sarah : “Me too. We just have to have fun in there.”
Irene : “Yes, of course. You too, Lang.”
Elang : “Thank you friends. Without you, my vacation this semester might not be fun.”
Laura, Sarah and Irene : (smile and nod)
They arrived in Bali. They went straight to the villa Laura had prepared to stay overnight.
The villa belongs to his uncle. The villa is very spacious. Contains 3 rooms, 3 ensuite bathrooms,
living room, kitchen, jacuzzi, even a swimming pool that directly faces the sea.
Laura : “Let's take a break today. Tomorrow just start traveling, and that night we watch
a concert at GWK.”
Sarah : “Yes!”
In the morning they have breakfast with a view of the sea. Then in the afternoon they visit
the Bali zoo and see the animals there. And the long-awaited, in the evening, they prepare for the
concert at GWK.
Irene : “Do you think I'm suitable for wearing this shirt?”
Elang : “That’s good looking, Irene.”
Laura : “What do you bring, Sarah?.”
Sarah : “I only carry my handphone, wallet and power bank.”
Irene : “After the concert, we will go to Café Seafood Bakar Jimbaran right?”
Sarah : “Of course. let's eat as much as we want tonight.”
 Elang : “Sounds really good. I will eat a lot.”
Laura : “Yes Lang, as much as you want.”
Not long after the conversation, they left to the concert venue at GWK. See, Elang is very
excited. His friends know he likes music concerts like this.
Sarah : “I love to bring Elang here.”
Irene : “I'm also happy to be able to celebrate his birthday here.”
Elang approaches them…..
Elang : “Come on guys, let's enjoy the music concert.”
After that, they enjoyed the music concert. Suddenly in the middle of concert……
Elang : “Ouch..!” (someone crashed into the backstop from behind, make him flinch)
Sarah : “Are you fine, Lang?”
Elang : “No worries. I’m okay.”
They did not realize that the one who touched Elang was a thief. He took Elang's cellphone
intentionally. They didn't realize it until the concert finished. They continue to Cafe Seafood Bakar
Jimbaran.
Elang : “Wait, I think I lost my handphone.”
Laura : “Where do you feel lost the phone?”
Elang : “I last used it at the concert. is it possible there?”
Sarah : “Try searching first. Check in the car. Who knows just tucked.”
Irene : “Let’s help Elang searching his phone!”
All help find Elang's cellphone. Until finally they returned to the concert venue and asked
the clerk if someone had found a cellphone. But the answer was not what he expected. No one
feels to have found a cellphone.
Elang : “How about this? my cellphone can't be found.”
Irene : “Do you have important data on your cellphone, Lang?”
Elang : “Not much is important. But I bought it with my savings.”
Sarah : “But Lang, I think the person who touched you was the one who took your
cellphone.”
Laura : “Yes, it is true. He looked shocked and very hurried.”
Elang : “Seems like yes. Well, that means there's no possibility of my cellphone coming
back.”
 Irene : “Ok now back to the villa. We think it tomorrow.”
Sarah : “Yes. Because it was very late.”
They returned to the villa. Elang still feels very disappointed. He lost a valuable item that
he could have worked so hard for. He still hopes his cellphone will return to him.
The next morning after breakfast, Sarah, Laura, and Irene plan to a cellphone shop. Elang
is still sleeping. They quietly left ...
Irene : “I think the new mobile phone is suitable for him.”
Laura : “We will buy the newest model, right?”
Sarah : “Certainly. We look for the best for him.”
Laura : “I think its good for him.” (point to one of the handphone)
Irene : “Ok we buy this for the gift.”
Then they paid and went to prepare a surprise for Elang's birthday. They bought Elang's
favorite cake and returned to the villa. and they returned as if nothing had happened and hid
everything from Elang.
Laura : “I ordered dinner for us.”
Irene : “Ok, everything's going well right? don't forget the gift.” (speak in whispers)
Laura and Sarah : “Ok.”
Irene : “Lang, don't forget to have dinner at the restaurant.”
Elang : “Sure. What time is it tonight?”
Laura : “at 7 p.m.”
Elang : “Alright. I'll try on time.”
While Elang was busy in his room, Irene, Laura and Sarah rushed to the restaurant and
prepared a surprise for Elang. Near 7 o'clock, Sarah sent a message to Elang that her, Irene and
Laura had already been there and asked Elang to follow immediately.
Elang’s came to the restaurant and was surprised… his friend preparing surprise for him!
Irene, Laura, Sarah : “Surprise!!”
Elang : “What is this?” (he was amazed)
Sarah : “Certainly surprise for you!”
Irene : “Happy Birthday, Lang.”
Elang : “You all amazing. Thank you very much.”
Laura : “This for you, Lang” (give the gift)
Irene : “Open it, Lang!!”
Elang : (open the gift) “Wow this is a new cellphone? thank you.”
Sarah : “We hope you like the gift.”
Elang : “ Surely, I like it.”
Irene : “Be careful ,Lang. The cellphone that we gave, you must protect it you know.”
Sarah : “Yes be careful if to a crowded or quiet place. Put in a closed place.”
Elang : “Hmm… Okay. I’m sorry yesterday to bother you guys.”
Laura : “No need to apologize, Lang. We are friends, no problem.”
Elang : “Thankyou for everything. I promise to protect it.”
After that they continue to have dinner and chat.
