Design Assistant BOM

The Design Assistant is our original product created in 1983 to help

equipment manufacturers and cable system operators with RF
calculations (forward and return) and powering calculations including
tracking distortion levels. This product is known for its speed of use
and accurate calculations. We continue to update the product to
handle today’s new equipment and architectures.

Design Assistant Viewer BOM

The Design Assistant Viewer is designed to be used by Managers to

view and QC networks and run reports, as well as Drafters to import
network designs into AutoCAD® drawings. (Network Designs can also
be imported into AutoCAD® directly from the Design Assistant.)

Drafting Assistant
In 1995 the Drafting Assistant, which works on top of AutoCAD®, was
integrated with the Design Assistant to speed up drafting time in
AutoCAD® and insure consistency of layers, blocks, etc. (AutoCAD® is
not included in the Drafting Assistant purchase) Using our Drafting
Assistant creates connectivity in the AutoCAD® maps allowing direct
communication in and out of the Design Assistant as well as a variety of
reporting functions such as Downstream Address reports and Path
Traces. Interactive Route

Fiber Module Splice Matrix

Server/Client Database

The Fiber Module, released in 2003, works on top of the Drafting

Assistant and utilizes an Oracle® database to store the spatial data.
(Oracle® is included in the Fiber Module License) Having the drawings
in the Oracle® database allows seamless mapping across map borders
as well as the ability to add in-depth properties to lines and blocks. For
instance, you can draw a fiber line on the drawing and connect it to
hub sites, nodes, splice enclosures, buildings, etc. The cable might be a
288 count fiber cable. In the properties of the cable you can see and
connect individual fibers to ports as well as other fibers. This allows for
over 40 different types of reports and tracing functions that are
generated automatically in Excel, DWG files and tracing highlight. You
can also design and document FTTX. Everything in One Mapping Software Package
Fiber Viewer
The Viewer allows users to view the system maps through an internet
connection from any computer with a simple login. In addition to
viewing your RF and fiber system maps you can run a variety of tracing
reports and even perform redline markups.
