Introduction of business

Name of business: selling the laptops

Reason for doing this business:

As we know that laptops become necessity for almost every student in
university and also there are numbers of companies produce laptops all over the
world as well in Pakistan. But in Pakistan and in other underdeveloped countries
where income level and purchasing power of people are very low they can’t
afforad the expensive laptops. As we mention earlier that now it become
necessary for every student to have their own laptop because of assignments,
research papers, projects and presentations they have to give on regular basis.
And keeping this thing in mind we planned to import the laptop from India which
was recently launched in Indian market and price for that laptop is about 3000
Pakistani rupees.

Demand forecast
We make demand forecast by using time series analysis. For that purpose we take
previous seven year sales of computer related equipment in Rawalpindi Islamabad first
and then specifically laptop sales from federal bureau of statistics. And on that base we
forecast our demand for next five years.

We did demand forecast by using three year moving

We take an initiative to start the business of selling the laptops in Pakistan. so we start
from the demand forecast of our business that what will be demand for the laptops in the
next five years. We start form the following:
• Define customer group: our target market are students of the all Islamabad and
Rawalpindi universities. There are 22 universities in Rawalpindi Islamabad with
102502 students. It means that our target market or our customers are one lace
twenty five thousand and two which we are going to target.
• Rule of thumb is that 20% of your target maeket customer approach you first
year.
• Define geographical area: basically we sale the laptops online in this regard we
developed our website through which we sale the laptops. The thing that I want to
discuss is that if we have an order we deliver the product to the door step. So we
mention in our marketing that we only deliver in the Islamabad, Rawalpindi and
related region. So these areas are plain goods roads and means of transportations.
So over delivery are fast and easy.

Market strategy:
• Focus group:
We create the focus group in which we invite the students, teachers and
the distributors in which we ask them about our product tell them the
characteristics of our product and take the suggestions and later we use these
as a guideline.
• Create awareness
First thing that we going to do is to create awareness about our product its
price, features of the product how this product solve your needs and which needs
through more better way how the product available to you how you access us.
• Advertisement strategy:
We distribute the pamphlets in the universities we reach to the maximum
housing societies as well as to all students hostels we display the posters at all
universities and outside the student hostels.
• Questionnaires:
We prepare the questionnaire in which we tell about our product in detail
and then ask them whether you buy are not.

Reason for adopting this strategy:

Basically we start the new business we have less finance and cannot bear
the expensive advertisements and the nature of our business and target market
which we have are best suited this strategy that we adopt.
