Please copy Disk1-4 into Hard Disk. And choose setup.exe to Run Setup.
And follow the steps described in (1).

(1-2)Remove old versions
Old version removed: with Windows menu 'Settings' /
'Control Panel' / 'Add/Remove' Programs -> RMS
Software old version selected and removed
(1-4) If you don’t want to remove old version, please install your
new RMS on different directory from your old one. By doing so, we
can avoid some problems from occurring.
2.Signing On to the system
Note: There are 2 levels of security for the software system. The Monitoring Level
allows access to all screens of the program in a view mode only. The Maintenance
level allow access to all screens as well as the ability to change settings, passwords,
etc.
Default passwords: Monitor Level: 12345

(2)Input Password
After installing RMS successfully, first you must input password before running
RMS.
12345: default monitor password
67890: default maintenance password
(3)Check Connect profile information
(a) Double-click Connect Profile information, set correct data like ComPort (1-
4). For other setting of Connect profile information is similar to “Com port”.
That is, just input your desired data.
(b) Ex: RMS gives COM1 as the default Comport. For example, if you want to
change your COM port from 1 to 2, please modify connect profile
information followed these steps.
a. Click on Connect profile icon to expand connect profile information.
b. Click on “Com port: 1” icon to enter “Edit” mode, like Fig2.
c. Input your desired COM port, 2, number like Fig3. Then, RMS will
automatically attach “COM port:” to this field when you leave this

(c) For example, if you want to modify default “Monitor password” form 12345
into “24690”, please just directly input “24690”and RMS will automatically
attach “Monitor Password” to this field.
(4)Create a site
If you use RMS for the first time, you must double click Area Name located on
the list box and click on “AddSite” icon on the Tool Bar of Fig5 to add a new
Site. Then, you will see a Site whose default name is “SiteName” on the list box
like Fig6.

default information is displayed on the right hand of this screen.

(f) Take some examples
(i) Product modal
If your system is MCS1800-smart, then click on “product model”
icon and a popup menu will appear shown on Fig7 and please choose
“MCS1800-smart”.
(ii) System voltage
Likely, if you want to change system voltage from +24V to –48V,
please click on “+24V” icon and a pop up menu will appear. Then,
choose “-48V” like Fig8.
(iii) Connection way
As for “connection way”, it’s similar to “product modal” & “system
voltage”. For example, if you want to change connection way from
“Remote” to “Local”, please click on “Remote” and a pop up menu
will appear. Please choose “Local” like Fig9.
(iv) AC operation mode
There are five operation modes you can choose, and they are 110Vac,
120Vac, 220Vac, 380Vac and 480Vac. For example, if you want to
change AC mode from “220Vac” to “110Vac”, please click on
“220Vac” and a pop up menu will appear. Please choose “110Vac” like
Fig10. You can refer to Table1 to choose the best choice of your AC
mode.

correct “Modem Number” and every equipment like Modem and RS232
cable (TXTX, RXRX) are OK.
Besides, set right “System voltage: +24V or –48V“ and product modal.
(8)Data of RMS shows
After connection, there are some icons located on the left hand of screen.
For RMS, “---“ is no use piece of information.
(a) CSU Screen:
After clicking “Connect” icon on the tool bar, if the connection is
established and CSU responds, CSU Screen will appear to display a
graphical read time condition of system. Located at the left of the screen
are some buttons allows the user to have the ability to choose more
information.
(b) Rectifier Screen:
Click Rectifier icon to appear Rectifier Screen. The status contained on
the Rectifier screen includes:
(i) The status and output information for each rectifier in the system
(ii) Current Limit
Turn the selector and click the vertical scroll bar to display the
individual rectifier output current in digital and a line graph which is
updated every 5 seconds.
Click rectifier status to allow the maintenance user to quickly verify
the remotely turn off and turn on an individual rectifier.
(c) Alarm Screen
The alarm screen contains the system alarm status. The alarm
information is divided into different groups, like System Alarm Info and
Dc Breaker Trip Info. If system occurs alarm, then LED beside it will
blink.
(d) Print Screen
The Print Screen allows the user to have the ability to preview or print
the Current Data, Current Alarm, or Parm Report to a printer connected
to their PC. Besides, if user sets the proper print schedule, RMS will
automatically to print out Data Reports which is chosen through connect
profile information.
(e) LA Reset
This button turns off the audible Local Alarm of the PC, which is
activated when the user accesses a site in an alarm condition but first
your PC must be with Sound Card.
