Your opportunity
In the role of Engineer (Civil), with supervision and guidance from senior engineering staff, you will project manage the
delivery of road infrastructure projects through the administration of contracts and provision of technical expertise and
support to the design, construction and maintenance processes. In doing this you will ensure effective coordination of key
operational activities and resources associated with project management and process development.
Accountabilities include:
Administer Road Construction Contracts to ensure compliance and successful delivery to Transport & Main Roads
specifications
Identify possible problem areas and negotiate modifications or adaptations to the design briefs where necessary to
achieve acceptance.
Calculate quantities of component materials, analyse test results for materials, identify non-conformances,
determine the controls needed during construction, and conduct and manage risk assessment.
Manage under supervision, projects or elements of projects and provide monthly financial forecasting
Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for
money and best practice are achieved;
Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to; and
Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Mandatory requirements:
A Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Civil Engineering qualification which is accepted by Engineers
Australia
Current holder of a Class C driver’s licence.
Desirable requirements:
Knowledge of TMR’s technical specifications and contract procedures (or similar) would be highly regarded.
