LAC pre-production log

DATE   ACTION TAKEN

Today, I had to print out the LAC assignment brief so we

3/02/2020  could study the brief as a class, then I began to progress
with the rushes log. We did this to ensure that we do not
forget the hand in date and to understand everything we
had to complete for the LAC assignment brief.

4/02/2020  I started to add all my clips that I was going to use in the
final piece to the sequence timeline on premiere pro
2020. I used approximately 57 clips in my sequence. I put
them in chronological order and then started to add
audio files i downloaded from Youtube to MP3 converter.
I then downloaded any MP3 sound i need in my
sequence such as birds in the early morning chirping
which was at the beginning of my timeline. I put all my
clips in chronological order because it helps me to
understand the narrative of my film better which allows for
more effective editing.

10/02/2020  Today I carried on progressing with my rushes log. Not only

did I do this, I also started to add effects and transitions
into my nested clips. For example, I added an additive
dissolve effect at the beginning of the timeline. This was to
ensure that the two different pieces of clips were together
to create a neat, smooth piece of clips that runs into
each piece of each other easily. The main goal was to
make the clips that looked seamless so, it was easier for
the audience or viewer to watch what was going on. The
transition I added was a fade in to let the audience know
the film has actually started. I also added my first major
soundtrack for my film, it was quite upbeat and joyful in
which i felt like it appealed to my target audience.

17/02/-23/02/2020  The half term came, i did not have any access to Premier
Pro so, this meant that i could not edit for my LAC Single
camera film. This was a major inconvenience. However, I
carried on to progress with my Rushes log even further.
The rushes log was very important as it is a major part in
the editing process for my LAC Single camera work. It was
vital to keep track of how many takes and scenes i had in
my short film in order for me personally, to know which
ones to edit and to use in your final piece. I also added
more detail in my pre-production log as before it looked
too basic and too generic.

24/02/2020  Today was screening day. This phase meant as a class,

we had to watch short five minute films that were
exported and submitted before 11:30AM to our teacher,
where we then gave individual feedback to all of them.
As a class we all gave them what went well feedback,
star ratings and even better ifs. Due to my major setback, I
was unable to present my short film in the screening.
Furthermore, I stayed back after school until 5PM to
completely finish my final edit on premiere pro 2020. I
added all the final bits of edits and transitions to make it
appeal to my audience and ensured it was seamless. I
also had to cut and trim a lot of irrelevant material from
my timeline to ensure that my final edit for my short
football film was under five minutes and thirty seconds
long. As i did not want it to go over that specific time
deadline as i knew it will affect my final grade for the
submission. I also finished my rushes log ready for the
submission tomorrow. Not only did I do all of this, I ensured
that my pre-production was up to date and of good
standing ready for submission tomorrow as well. Today I
also ended exporting my final video and uploading the
final piece on my own Youtube channel. I ensured the
video was public so everyone was able to see the video. I
saved the video onto my USB and saved it on my creative
cloud section just incase i lost my USB I would have back
up.

25/02/2020  Today is submission day for LAC Single camera. This is the
phase where I evaluated all my paperwork. I ensured all
my paperwork was printed in the morning so I did not
have to do it in lesson. For example, the rushes log and
the pre-production log. I ensured I put everything on my
weebly such as my final video on the LAC, year 12, single
camera section.
