What lighting techniques are used throughout the video? 
 
The lighting technique used at the beginning of the music video is natural 
lighting. Then soft lighting, backlighting, practical lighting, side lighting and 
high key lighting. 
 
How do these techniques convey emotions?  
 
These lighting techniques convey positive emotions such as happiness, 
confidence and pride. This is due to the main lighting technique which is used 
in this music high key lighting as it displays positive emotions. 
 
How do the narrative reflect genre? 
 
There is no narrative in this specific music video. However, the genre of the 
music video is British hip hop. 
 
Are there any aspects of this music video that you could incorporate into your 
own music video? 
 
There are definitely some lighting techniques that i will be using in my own 
music video such as natural lighting, practical lighting and premade gels. 

Natural lighting:
In the opening of the music video, natural lighting is established. Natural
lighting refers to the using and modifying light source available at a specific
location of filming without using artificial lighting. Natural sources of light may
include ​the sun, stars, fire, and electricity in storms.

Backlighting is then used behind the subject which is typical. This removes any
defects or contrast with the background and foreground. This gives the character
more shape and depth. Furthermore, the effect of this lighting effect is to create
a glow or rim on the edges of a character's head.
High-key lighting is a form of bright lighting that is used in normal, everyday
scenarios. Furthermore, high-key light is typically very bright and free from
shadows. This lighting technique is generally used to create a light and open
environment or surroundings. For instance, we can establish that high-key
lighting is used in this image.

The sidelight camera technique is established in this image. This lighting

technique is defined as a light that comes from the side parallel to a character.
This light casts a shadow across the character’s face revealing more texture.
