Background Support: Many large energy users use Demand Response to help utility grids balance supply and demand. In return for generating their own power, the utility will pay the owner
of the gen-set. This paid amount can be thousands to tens of thousands of dollars per year depending on how much load the customer can shed.
Statement 2: Generac’s natural gas gen-sets are factory EPA certified for Emergency and offer an option EPA Certified Non-Emergency/Demand Response situations.
Background Support: If EPA certification is not done at the factory, the engine has to be emissions certified in the field after it is deployed. Certifying an engine in the field is very expensive
and, generally, needs to be recertified every 1-3 years.
Statement 3: A strong relationship with your customer can give you leverage.
Background Support: A dealer who is able to communicate the value of working directly with them – their experience, past projects, support will have an advantage.
Statement 4 : Generac’s low fuel consumption is provides environmental advantages and is more cost effective.
Background Support: Environmental advantages of natural gas include: lower levels of NOx and CO2 , reduced particle emissions, and virtually no SO2 or mercury emissions. Using less fuel
reduces all of these emissions and operating expenses at the same time.
Statement 5: In areas with scarce fuel pressure availability, Generac’s gen-set can run on low fuel pressure saving resources including price and time.
Background Support: Metropolitan areas have low gas pressure. In these areas, it is much easier to lower the gas pressure in a regulator opposed to having a gas company boost gas
pressure to meet the fuel pressure requirement of the generator. Boosting fuel pressure is a very expensive and time consuming process.
Statement 6: Generac offers a variety of Sound Attenuated Enclosures to meet a variety of customer needs.
Background Support: Sound Attenuated Enclosures offered by Generac range from standard choices to high sound-deadening enclosures. All of these options are factory installed, and are
listed to UL2200.
Statement 7: The benefits of footprint and weight go hand in hand.
Background Support: Having a small footprint is paramount in applications where size restraints are an obstacle, but having a low weight is also instrumental in several applications. In a
rooftop application with little available space, for example, a lighter unit in a smaller area will better ensure a unit will be a perfect fit. Low weight also aids in reducing installation pricing.
Generally, the crane needed to lift the unit is substantially cheaper than the crane needed to lift a heavier unit.
Statement 8: Generac offers excellent gen-set performance when it comes to altitude and temperature derates.
Background Support: Derate at high altitude and temperature of the Generac products saves your customers time, money, and the hassle of purchasing a competitors larger unit to meet
what Generac’s product already achieve.
Statement 9: Generac offers the most aggressive wind load ratings.
Background Support: For customers in high wind locations, Generac offers up to 200 mph wind load kits from the factory. This ensures your customers can get a factory solution for their
needs.
