SECTION B: PROPOSED RESEARCH BUDGET

It is compulsory to complete the amount required for tuition fees.

 Any queries regarding the budget to be submitted must be directed
to your supervisor.
 No amendments to the submitted budget will be considered after
awards have been made.
 The Selection Committee reserves the right NOT to approve a
submitted budget.
 The MAXIMUM budget excluding study feesfor masters by
dissertation bursary per qualification is R55 000.00 and
R80 000.00for Doctoral studies (not per annum).
 The MAXIMUM budget excluding study fees for masters by
coursework bursary per qualification is R25 000.00 for the mini-
dissertation module.
 The MAXIMUMbudget excluding study fees for master by
experimental research bursary per qualification is R55 000.00 and
R120 000.00for doctoral studies.

It is imperative for me to mention that MawuenaAweso is a dedicated and

hardworking student. The work that he has submitted since he

commenced with the programme is of high standard.

2. Please provide a statement on the quality of work submitted

The exposition of the topic is clearly articulated and sets the scene
for an interrogation of some of the pertinent issues relating to
Curriculum and Management. The candidate made a concerted effort
to present the crucial aspects pertaining to his field of study.
3. Discuss the student’s capacity to deal with methodological issues.

The candidate appears to comprehend the scientific methodological

protocols associated with compiling a document of a doctoral thesis. In his
proposal he demonstrated an understanding of the relevant research
methods and techniques in the gathering of data. Given the nature of the
subject, he opted for employing a qualitative method which in the context
is relevant and adequate.
4. Does the budget submitted by the student relate to the research
being conducted?

Yes
5. What is the likelihood that the student will be able to complete the
researchwithin the prescribed period?
Judging from the work already submitted and the commitment, there is a
strong possibility that the student will complete his studies in record time.
He contacts the supervisor on weekly basis by telephones, email and
watsap. I strongly recommend him for financial assistance.
