Code of Conduct for NDA/NA/NIOS Course

Attendance
 Attendance to each class as per the timetable is compulsory to complete the courses. The teacher
of the class may not allow late entry into the class.
 During class hours students are not allowed to stay in the hostel except under certain compelling
circumstances. Any confinement in the hostel due to sickness/ill health should be reported to the
Course Coordinator.
 Students falling ill frequently will have to visit the doctor and may be asked to return home if
serious illness detected.
 Punctuality and regularity in class is important. Irregular attendance, habitual idleness or coming
late to class should be avoided.
 Students who need to excuse themselves from regular classes will have to take the permission of
the Course Coordinator and inform the Front Office.
 Students must practise Fitness every morning at the allotted time.
 Non-residential students are expected to be in class before the lectures begin.

Class Etiquette
 All students must stand and greet the teacher with a polite ‘Good Morning’ at the beginning and
“Thank you” at the end of every class.
 Lying down in class is strictly prohibited.
 Eating and drinking in class is strictly prohibited.
 Mobile phones and voice recorders are not allowed in the class.
 Use of mobilephones by the students during class hours (both theory and practical) is strictly
forbidden.

Campus Rules
 Residential students are not allowed to stay overnight off campus.
 Fans and lights must be switched off when you leave your room. Light must be switched off
when you go to bed.
 If you have left the institute with permission, please ensure that you return to campus by 9:00pm.
 IMPORTANT: All lights must be turned off and activities ceased at 10:00 p.m.

 Hostel Rules

 Room furniture, electrical fittings etc. are required to be maintained in good condition.
 Lock your things properly when you go out for your bath, classes, visit the dining hall etc
 Keep your Dorm, toilets and lobby of the living areas clean.
 Keep your valuables including currency in your locker.
 Accommodation is on a shared basis.
 Dormitory can be inspected at any time by the hostel caretaker.

Library and Study Time

 Study time is allotted nearly every day for revision of subject concepts.

Internet
 An internet-enabled computer is available at the institute. This can be used to check emails with
permission.
 Using the internet facility during class hours is not allowed.
 Timings for internet access will be allocated by the Course Coordinator.

The Following are STRICTLY PROHIBITED

 Smoking, drinking of alcohol or use of illicit drugs
 Outside food (hotel, restaurant, fast food etc.) is STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED
 Students can get their own fresh fruits or dry fruits from the local market.

Dress Code
 You are required to be decently dressed when you are in the classroom.
 During the physical training, you are supposed to be in fitness track suit with a towel and water
bottle.

Dining Hall Rules

 All meals should be had during meal times only.
o Breakfast: 8:30 a.m.

o Lunch: 1:00p.m.

o Dinner: 8:00p.m.

 In case you will not be having a meal or meals on a certain day, kindly inform the office and the
kitchen in writing.

 Interaction with Institute Staff
 Kindly treat the staff and housekeeping staff of the hostel with due courtesy at all times.
 You are not permitted to use the service of the housekeeping staff for private or personal work.
 Do not give any tips in cash or kind to the staff of the institute.

Leave Request
 You are required to fill up and submit the ‘Leave Permission’ form if you leave the campus for
some time.

Kindly Note
 During your stay here, kindly maintain an atmosphere of peace and calm that is conducive to
study practices at all times.
 Maintain the sanctity of the institute and conduct yourself positively.
 Keep in mind that you are here not merely to study the discipline of officer, but also apply the
same discipline and lifestyle to yourself in day-to-day activities; therefore conduct yourself with
restraint.

Students found violating these instructions wilfully or whose presence is considered undesirable,
for any reason, will be asked to leave immediately by the Course Coordinator. It goes without
saying that fees will not be refunded.
